The Other Side: Korra and Asami

Chapter 4: Lightning

“Where?” Korra said with raged

“In the Central City Station, there was this big explosion on one of the railings of the train.” Chiki replied

Korra looked at Asami. “Asami we need to go back to Republic City. NOW!” Then she started to run towards the portal. Once she was in front of the portal, she realized that Asami didn’t follow her.

“Asami! Let’s go!” Korra screamed but as she turned around she saw the non-bender still standing in front of Chiki. She ran towards Asami. “Hey!”

She looked at the pale non-bender. The green eyes that stared at her looked empty. “Asami, are you okay?” Korra asked while snapping her fingers in front of the non-bender’s face.

“What? What happened?” Asami shook her head

“We were about to go to Republic City but then you froze. What happened to you?”

“I don’t know. We have to go back. They need you at the . . .” Asami didn’t finished her sentence and her lips turned white. The non-bender then fainted.

“ASAAAAMII” Korra screamed. Catching the non-bender. She looked at Asami with fear in her eyes, she tried to check what’s wrong but she doesn’t know. The avatar then carried the non-bender and ran towards the portal; Chiki followed them.

 Korra frantically ran towards the portal with Chiki beside her. Suddenly, the wind started to gush against her making it difficult for her to move towards the portal. The distance towards the portal grew.  Then everything turned black. The clouds started to move in a circular motion in the sky that followed them. Then there was thunder and lightning.

Korra ran faster towards the portal. The first bolt of lightning hit a meter away the portal. It made a large crater on the ground. The second almost hit them but Korra dodged it by jumping back. Once Korra landed on the ground, another lighting bolt hit them, which electrified the three of them. Korra lost her grip of Asami and slipped off her arms as they fell down.

Korra reached her hand out towards Asami and Chiki but the lightning stunned her and lost consciousness.

After a few hours, Korra woke up with a pain at her back. Everything was still black as if they were lost in Limbo. She saw Asami and Chiki lying down on the ground. She placed her hand on the ground to feel the pulse of the two through her earth bending. She took a deep breathe, knowing the two survived the lightning. Korra then stood up and checked Asami. She found a burnt part on Asami’s left shoulder.

Korra turned around, searching for a source of water. What should I do? I can’t heal her without water.

The avatar closed her eyes, hoping that everything will be okay. She then remembered what Iroh told her when she was lost in the spirit world; what she feel affects the spirit world.

Korra then sat down next to the unconscious non-bender. She placed her fist together and closed her eyes to meditate. Taking deep breathes; she started to think of happy thoughts. She thought of the green eyes and smile of the non-bender.

After she meditated, she slowly opened her eyes feeling the change that is happening around her. Once her eyes were opened, everything was back to normal. She saw the bright blue sky and the giant lily pads that surrounded the place. From afar, she saw a pound of water. She drew the water to her control and healed the burnt part of Asami’s shoulder.  After heeling Asami, Korra made a pillow for the non-bender’s head. Then, she went to Chiki and healed him.

“Korra?” a raspy voice murmured
