Chapter Nine

Reese pov

I sigh as i walk towards the store. I look around to see trees shedding their leaves. God i can't believe i've been away from my gang for 4 and a half months now. I sigh, Its almost the end of fall meaning cold, dark winter is ahead.

I turn around to look at the small half asleep boy shivering. Hes not going to survive a year on his own. I shake my head not wanting to think about it and walk inside.

"Go stand over there." He looks at the heater and nods. I pick up a basket and walk around the small grocery store.

"Reese?" I turn around and give the guy ahead of me a confused look. "Dante?" he pulls me into a hug which lasts about five seconds.

Dante used to be part of the east side gang before he left. We've always been friends. He's like 5 years older then me but you'd never know since he still acts 16.

"What are you doing here?" I pause. "I uhhh left." He grins. "Finally! Where are you headed? We could travel together or something!" I sigh and shake my head. "I got some things to deal with, but we could always meet up in like a year or so." He nods. "Sure dude, whenever you're free just search me on instagram, you'll find me." I nod.

He then looks behind me. "want some easy money?" I shrug. "Sure." He points behind me. "Bet that boys loaded, and clearly can't take us." I turn to where he's looking and shake my head.

"He's with me." He widens his eyes. "What are you doing with him?" I walk past him and grab the beans behind him. "Long story." He laughs. "What makes you keep him around? I thought you would've killed him by now." I laugh.

"I have my reasons." He smirks. "Didn't know you was into guys." I turn to him and frown. "Not like that." He laughs and pats my shoulder.

"If not now then later, anyways where are you staying?" I shrug. "Everywhere, usually the car." He nods.

"I have some old camping supplies if you want them. Just a small tent and cooking supplies." I grin. "For real? That would be great." He nods and we continue to talk while we grab the last of the things we need.

We eventually go and pat before i walk over to Levi. "Kitten this is Dante, the only person from the East side i actually class as a friend. Dante this is Levi." He smiles shyly at Dante.

"Hi." Dante laughs and ruffles Levi's hair making him smile. "Come on, let me grab you the supplies."

Levi gives me a confused look. "Dante has some camping supplies we can use." He raises his eyes brows. "Oh thats good."

"Im going to a party at a lake next week, do you both wanna come?" I raise an eyebrow. "Who are the people?" He smiles. "Some guy i met at a different party, majority of the people there will be strangers to each other." I look at Levi who shrugs. "Its up to you." I turn to Dante and nod. "Sure write down the location."

As he does this i hand the small tent to levi and give him the car keys so he can put it in. We've had this car for a week or so and it's honestly filled with so much. We've found clothes, Food and loose change. I mean sure its only a small sedan, but its great.

"So, kitten?" I turn to him and smirk. "Yeah his last names Cat, he's from the West side gang but he's as weak as a kitten, hence the name." He smirks. "Yeah, as cute as a kitten too." I frown. "Leave him alone." He burst into laughter.

"Alright mr protective im not trying to steal your boyfriend." I groan. "He's not- shut up Dante." He laughs but calms down when Levi walks back over.

"Im going to go back to where im staying, but i'll see you guys next week! It was nice seeing you again Reese, and nice meeting you Levi!" We say goodbye before walking back towards the car.

"He seems nice." I smirk and climb into the car "yeah, he is."

Levis pov

I unplug my seat belt and lean back. We parked on a car park for the night.

"Reese, do you think its safe to go to a party in... our situation." He shrugs. "There will be plenty of people there so if the cops or your old gang members show up we can blend in and leave." I bite my lip nervously.

"But they know what clothes we have." He pauses to think for a moment. "We found those random clothes in the back of the car the other day, we could just use them." I nod and grab the pile of clothes and put them on my knee to go through them.

I pass him a plane white top and black jeans and take the smaller white top and jeans for myself.

"We're going to match?" I shrug. "All the other clothes are to way to small." He groans.

"This will be the first fun thing we've done in half a year." He smirks. "I find threatening you and others quite fun." I stay silent.

Of course he does.
