Chapter Twenty Two

Levis pov

I sigh as i enter simons motel room.

"Hey Levi!" I smile softly and sit on the chair.

We watch the show on his tv for a few hours, sometimes sparking up different conversations.

"Why didn't Reese come?" I shrug. "He's tired." He nods and smiles before looking away.

"Ya know... you shouldn't stay with him." I frown. Every time we talk he brings this up... maybe i wont visit as often.

"Levi you know he hurts you! A few weeks ago when you said you love him and he said you don't, thats so hurtful." I shake my head.

"No, if he doesn't love me i can't force him to simon, from what we've all gone through it takes time to love someone." He frowns.

"No! Levi you can do so much better, be with someone who truly would love you." I smile.

"I'm happy with Reese, i'm sure he will love me one day and if he doesn't thats fine, i just hope he's happy." He groans and leans back in his bed.

"Why can't you see it Levi, he is using you. He doesn't care about you, he even uses that weird nickname to bully you about how your small and weak." I blush at the thought of Reese calling me kitten.

"I like it." He rolls his eyes.

"Of course you do! You will do anything to impress him, even if that means putting yourself down." I play with the small bracelet that Reese gave me a few months back, not really taking in what Simon is saying.

He does this every time, it's as if he is desperate for me to not like Reese.

I sigh and quickly change the subject. "Have you seen Blake recently?" He quickly shakes his head. "I haven't seen Blake since i left, why would you even ask that?" I give him a confused look before looking down again.

"Sorry." He sighs before sitting in front of me. "Don't be sorry Levi, i just hate seeing you be treated the way you are, it's unfair! You deserve a happy, normal life with someone that truly cares about you and can keep you safe."

I smile softly. "Reese can keep me safe." He rubs his head and shakes his head.

"Why can't you understand that he doesn't want to be with you!" I look at him, trying to figure out why this upsets him so much.

"If he doesn't want to be with me in the future thats fine, thats up to him. But i think right now we are both happy because if he wasn't he'd tell me, believe me."

I mentally groan at the thought of how many times Reese has complained about hating Simon to me.

"I appreciate you trying to look out for me Simon, but i'm fine and if he does break up with me, thats would be one of the first normal human experiences to ever happen to me, so i don't mind. I just want a normal life." He frowns.

"And you think this world will ever allow you to have a normal life as an ex gang member with your serial killer boyfriend?" I pause.

Maybe he has a point... maybe-

I shake my head. Don't let him do this to you Levi, he's just trying to pull you away from Reese.

I look at him and frown slightly at his angry look. How can he be so mad at me for something i can't control...

"I'm going to head back to camp Simon, it was nice hanging out." He shakes his head and before i can stand up he grabs me.

"No! You can't go back! They will be there by now!" I raise my eyebrow at him.

"What will be there now?" He stares into my eyes, as if trying to take over my mind.

"The cops or Blake, whoever gets there first." I stare at him, trying to see if he's joking.

The cops? He told the cops where me and Reese are staying? But he knows...

He walks away and smirks. "Look Levi, theres no point you go back, i told them it was all reese and he's keeping you as a hostage, you will thank me later but i-"

I stand up and quickly walk towards him.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?" His eyes widen as i place my pocket knife against his stomach.

The pocket knife Reese gave to me when we first met.

We both look at the small knife in my shaking hands. I've never done this to anyone, it was like a quick response.

"Levi i was just doing what was right, he didn't love you. Come on you aren't going to stab me right? We've been friends for years!" I shake my head, not knowing if i want to scream or cry.

"We were barely friends simon! You just decided not to hurt me, you never cared about me and you still don't! HE IS THE BEST THING I HAVE SIMON." He frowns.

"Levi i love you! I can love you more than he does! Don't choose him he hates you!" I feel my lip tremble and run out of the room, tears streaming down my face.

He doesn't love me. If he loved me he'd want to see me happy.

Oh my god I gotta get out of here.

I gotta go warn Reese.

I love him i can't lose him!

Please god i pray this ends ok.
