My 16th birthday came, and it felt like a fairytale. I was a bit nervous while looking at the body lenght mirror infront of me. Suot ko na ang maroon na gown na pinagawa ni Tita.
Everything just feels surreal. Lalo na ngayon na iba na ang pakikitungo ni Moie sa akin. I don't know when it happened.
It lessened my grumpiness towards my sister. Napatigil ako sa pagmuni-muni ng marinig ang pagbukas ng pinto. Tita went inside with a huge smile in her face. Even at her age, she still looked stunning. Hindi mo maipagkakaila na talagang maganda si tita.
"Hija, you look absolutely beautiful. Naku, maraming mahuhulog sayo nito." She said. Napatawa naman ako.
She came and hugged me. I hugged her back.
"Kayo din po naman ang ganda niyo po." I heard her soft chuckle bago siya lumayo sa akin.
"May nagpadala pala, hija. I think he or she is a fun of you. She bought branded things. Ang mamahal. Pinapaakyat ko pa, hija."
Tita went out at sumunod naman ako. I felt my mouth open when i saw tons of branded paperbags being carried to my room. Halos mapuno ang loob ng salas namin. And imagine how big this living room is.
Some were even in boxes. Halos maiyak ako sa nakita ko. I'm not a materialistic person but seeing this much is overwhelming.
When Tita saw my reaction she laughed and hugged me.
"Naku, don't cry. Masisira ang makeup mo. You look stunning pa naman." She said.
Napatawa naman ako. Then we heard another door close kaya sabay kaming napalingon ni Tita.
Infront of us now was moie. He looked so stunning in his tux. He looked at me and smiled.
"Beautiful." Agad namang bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko. Halos mapunit na ata yung bibig ko sa kakangiti.
But my smile faded when i heard another shutting of door and saw my sister in the same colour as my dress.
"Magandang hapon po, Tita." She greeted tita saka naman siya lumingon sa akin.
"Happy Birthday, bunso." Halos mapangiwi ako sa sinabi niya. Bunso? Seriously? Kailan pa?
Tita looked at her and smiled.
"Good afternoon too, maddy. Maayos ba ang tulog mo?" Tumango naman si Ate.
She hooked her arms around moie that made my brows arch up. Seryoso?
Tinawag ako ni Tita because the party was about to start. Naroon ang buong Estevan. Lola Yasmine gave me a tight hug.
"Maligayang kaarawan, Gaia." I smiled and hugged her back.
"Salamat po, Lola." She laughed and kissed my cheeks.
Sunod-sunod akong binati ng mga pinsan nila. Haru went to me and hugged me tight.
"Happy Birthday, Tanga. Malapit ka ng maging legal. Konting tiis nalang pikotin mo na, ha?" Napatawa ako. Kinurot ko siya sa tagiliran niya. I heard him groan.
Iilang pinsan pa ang bumati sa akin. I saw kuya hej walking towards me, nakabukas ang mga braso para sa isang yakap. Pupunta na sana ako sa kanya when suddenly ate Ada pulled him away. She looked at me and gave me a flying kiss.
"Sorry, babe. He canno ' do that. Baka mabugbog nang dis oras."
I heard the elders laugh.
