Of course the one day he actually decides to go to the bank is the day it gets robbed.

Tony decided early that morning that he would enjoy the walk from the tower to the bank. So he had cleared his schedule and gathered his checks. He wasn't sure who half of them were made out to or from but pepper had told him they needed to be taken to the bank. Usually he would have Foyet take them, he was an intern on the first level. A bit creepy but he got the job done.

So far the trip had gone great, he had only been stopped by two people for autographs and made it to the bank relatively quickly.

He had been in line for about the minutes, he could have used his identity to move forwards and be served first. But he wasn't like that, he'd feel bad. He didn't have anywhere to go for the next hour and there was no way this would take that long.

He tapped his foot on the marble floor, not nervously like he always did. But in tune to the music, they happened to be playing AC/DC which he thought was weird for a bank but he didn't mind.

He moved forwards a spot when the someone was done being helped. He wasn't paying attention to where she walked. If he was he would've seen the man pull out a gun, and he would've been able to stop him from shooting her. But he didn't look and he didn't move because he was trapped in his own world. Enjoying the music and waiting to cash checks.

"Everybody in a line" the man with the gun announced, using it to force people into a line.

Great he's actually smart, using us as a human shield so the cops can't use snipers. Tony thought as he followed the others to the line.

Do something Tony you're an avenger, more people are going to die if you don't mo-.

"Ahh" he gasped out as something solid came in contact with the back of his head.

"Did you think you could blend in Stark? This is a lovely surprise because they can't give you up, no you're the perfect hostage" the man said pulling Tony towards the back of the bank.

"You don't have to do this, I can give you as much money as you want" he offered, his nerves forcing him to fall back on his money. It usually got him out of situations he'd rather not be in.

"No, Stark I don't want your blood money"

"That's hypocritical" he scoffed, flinching slightly as the barrel of the gun was pressed against his temple.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah well you don't want my blood money by the money your stealing now, you're able to steal it because you killed someone" his mind was telling him to shut up but he just kept talking.

"At least it was only one life Stark, how many have you killed?"

"It wasn't me, it was my fathers company I stopped it when I found out what it was doing to people" he said it, but he didn't mean it. Deep down he always knew he was the reason, he should've noticed sooner. It shouldn't have taken a first hand experience for him to pay attention to the lives he'd taken.

"No, it was you stark. But anyway I'm not here to have a heart to heart" he paused, Tony stared intently at the backs of each persons heads. If he screwed up they'd be dead. "I have to let the city know I'm serious"

"What does that even mean?" He gasped as he was thrown to the floor. His hands were pulled behind his back and placed into handcuffs. He wondered for a second how he got them, then remembered the bank security, he was laying off to the side with a syringe in his neck. He didn't look like he was breathing. Before he could point that out for no other reason than prove the man was hypocritical he was flipped over.
