Jersey's POV

And so, it was finally time for the after party. We all had assigned seats and tables. And of course, My family sat down with Mr. And Mrs. Devin. Harold, Gabriel and his wives also sat with us. Ben and Hannah were in another table, simply because they'll be busy standing up and entertaining each guests.

Caden and I sat down and still couldn't believe that his father had just given him a huge opportunity. And I was so happy for him.

The food was going to be served in a few minutes and I took my time looking around the place. The hall room was amazing too. It had a modern twist to what a traditional banquet looked like. A live band was playing over the corner of the stage and the dance floor was wide. I'm guessing there's going to be dancing involved tonight. Oh and yes, last week was Mr. and Mrs. Devin 40th wedding anniversary.

I looked at our table and realized that across me and Caden, there were still 2 empty seats. And I thought it was probably Ben and Hannah's seats. Well, I'm glad I dont have to sit across her.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" Caden whispers.

I turn to him and nod my head. "I will be once I eat." And it made him laugh.

All of a sudden, 2 figures walked towards us and I looked up and widen my eyes. Killian and a man was walking towards our direction.

Father stood up and greeted them and I felt like my soul had just left my body. "Fred! It's great to see you again! And Killian! Wow, you are as handsome as they say."

I looked at Killian who practically looked like he had an actual relationship with Dad as they both shook hands. Do they actually know each other?

"I'm glad we could finally talk about the deal." Father says. I immediately kicked Caden who was busy talking to his brother. He turns around and seems confused and I gestured him to Killian.

"Always a pleasure to see you, Xander." The man says. He suddenly turns to me and I felt my heart explode. "This must be your lovely daughter. You didn't tell me she's this gorgeous!"

"Ah yes, Jersey May. My only daughter." Father gestures towards me and I made eye contact with Killian who put on the most sarcastic smile on his face.

"Oh god." I whispered to myself.

...

As we were eating, I couldn't help but shake under the table. What if this lunatic opens his mouth and father finds out that I actually didn't get that deal! So many thoughts were running in my mind that the food didn't taste like anything.

With my head down, I turn my eyes to him and he was looking at me. I sighed and looked away. Caden hears me let out a breath and he suddenly held my hands.

I turn to him and he had that smile on his face as if telling me that everything is going to be okay. I faintly smile at him and continued to eat my meal with the other hand.

"So Killian, I heard a lot about you." Father starts. "I heard about your work in Barcelona and France if I do recall it right."

Killian smiles at him and began to speak. "Ah yes, sir. I've been helping my brothers and sisters quiet a lot and I do enjoy the work and the travel."

"So Fred? Are you settled here in LA or..?" Mr. Devins asked and the man sits up straight and turns to him.

"Well, it was Killian's choice to be here. Most of my children are in London and Edinburgh since the family businesses run there. But our family residence is in Wales." The man answers. And so that explains their accent. They're from England then. Alright.
