I stared out the bus window afraid of everything I was leaving the city walls to go to the A.T.C and I was alone . I stared at all the white buildings committing them to memory incase I never come back .

I felt so many things right now I didn't know what do "Haelynn right ?" The pink girl asked from the seat behind me "uh yeah ? " I asked nervously (I don't have any friends )

"oh umm I'm sapphire and I ...I know we're going to probably die soon but umm ... I was wondering ...if ...you'd like to be friends ?" She asked you could tell she was very nervous probably because she was alone like me most of our classmates know each other but I didn't really care enough to meet them all .

"Ummm sure " I said I mean come on she's probably the only person who's ever gonna want to be my friend . So of course I said yes plus she seems nicer then the rest of these idiots .

Her face lit up and she smiled a huge smile probably the biggest I've ever seen . I smiled back a small smile before noticing the boy with the black hair looking at us . I immediately looked forward not wanting to be watched .

What's with him ? I thought
The bus stopped for a moment and we all looked out the front window to see the great city gate that stopped the defects from getting in .

I then remembered the emotion that rivaled all the others combined . Fear ,Fear of what lies behind that gate fear of leaving my mother behind ,and the fear of dying .

I was so trapped in thought I didn't realize we were driving again until I saw The battlefield hundreds of soldiers and defects bodies strewn about blood covered the grounds and the outside wall and the worst part is this is only the beginning

"And this isn't even an active battlefield "sapphire said from behind me I turned to face her and I noticed a tear falling down her cheek she buried her face in her hands

"We're never gonna win this " she was now sobbing "hey don't think like that " I said "we won't die we have abilities now remember " I reminded her . she lifted her face "but they had abilities too and they still died "

I tried to argue but I knew she was right most of us will probably die out here . "Well if you think like that then maybe you will die " a voice said causing both of us to look up

I was surprised to see the boy with black hair standing next to sapphires seat "HEY you need to sit down " One of the soldiers said "right sorry sir "the boy apologized as he sat down next to sapphire "I'm Jamison" he said
We both stared at him for a minute

"This would generally be the part where you tell me your names "
Jamison said breaking the silence and bringing us back down to earth . "Right sorry "we said in unison "I'm sapphire "sapphire said shaking his hand

"And I'm haelynn " I told him
"Well it's nice to meet you guys it seems we're the talk of the class "he said looking towards some students who were glaring at us "uuugh don't remind me "sapphire said burying her face in her hand again

Suddenly we heard gasps and woahs from the other students as they looked out the windows we also decided to see what was out there

We looked out the windows to see a huge building that was barely smaller then new Volta it was surrounded with a large steel wall .

"I..is that ..." sapphire started I cut her off "the attack base of New Volta " I said still staring out the window

We all watched as the metal gate slowly opened revealing the base the bus drove through as it opened bringing us all closer
To the windows .

After the bus finally stopped all twelve of us single filed out of the bus .as we were lead toward the main building we stared at all the soldiers some stared back some were wounded and others were praying . A tough looking group were sparring and we saw just how amazing abilities could be

But I remembered my father and how he left shortly after I was born never to see me again he never saw me walk he never heard my voice he never tucked me in at night . Heck he didn't even have a chance to tell me he loved me .

And then I remembered abilities only bring pain and tears . We finally reached the building and headed inside to meet the captain of our colors

See all colors are separated into groups and each group has one main leader we would be meeting all of them today and they would also teach us one thing about all the colors before we were separated

We finally arrived to meet them and the pink one started to speak "hi "she said " my name is bexley and I welcome you to the a.t.c shall we begin "
