peace before death

We got up quite early this morning we ate and went to the buses after we found the first defect all hell broke loose hundreds upon thousands of defects swarmed around us as we fought them off .

Portals were opened and gravity was lifted but no matter how many we killed they never stopped .

6:00 a.m. (boarding the buses )

"Hey , "Jamison called to Cassidy and I from the back of the bus "looks like we're all on the same bus " we quickly moved towards the back "yeah I guess we are " Cassidy said sadness in her voice "Cassidy " sapphire said "we're gonna be ok "

"Yeah " Jamison said following her lead "we are gonna have each others backs " "always " I chimed in .

"Lets make a vow " Jamison said "to have each others backs so none of us die " he placed his hand in the middle and we followed "forever and always " we said in unison just after we spoke the bus stopped and we all climbed out in a single file line .

6:28 a.m. (first attack )

Then we saw it our first defect it looked almost human ...aside from large icy blue wings and a few spikes along its back it looked like it was doing something ... it was trying to save a fallen defect !!! It was just trying to help ...

I spotted one of my classmates aiming I blast of energy towards it ... I had to stop this " wait !! " I called as I jumped in the way just as the blast fired

I was knocked to the ground and my shoulder was in immense pain . I ignored the pain and stood up to look straight in the eyes of the defect it's icy blue eyes stared through me before it ran away .

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING COLIN !!! " brynnley yelled . I whipped my head around " ma'am with all due respect that defect was doing nothing wrong it was simply helping a fallen comrade . "

"Of course it was you are just like your father always finding the good in things " she said anger remained on her face . "What ?!?" I asked " her anger faded into a mix of shock and fear . "Get to the back you are suspended from all activities once we return to base ."

Suddenly as I was walking back I could feel a sudden wave of suspicion flowing over me . What did brynnley know about my father ?? . I stood in the back of the line as we continued to walk.
6 :53 a.m. ( second attack )

I heard movement on my left so I immediately looked over to see hundreds of defects charging towards us .the others noticed as well and began attacking . And soon it was a full on war . Soldiers everywhere were falling on both sides of the fight .

No matter how hard we fought it didn't look good for us . I was clustered in my group of friends at the beginning .

But now I'm not sure where they are . Actually I'm not sure if I care anymore . All I can see is blood and flashes of different colors . I didn't feel pain ,just peace. This is it, I thought this is how I die .

I'm so tired , maybe if I just close my eyes for a second ...
