Elenas POV:

I'm currently at home right now. In my one bedroom one bathroom apartment. It's basically all I can afford. I kinda wished Jenna still lived here, but she moved with Alaric to Australia. Random right? Bonnie and Damon are coming down with Brianna in less than a month. Bon said she wanted to come and see how I was settling in. But I'm a hundred percent sure it's because she misses me. I have to buy an actual car in 2 weeks since I only have a rental right now. Hopefully taking this position will help me move into a 2 bedroom apartment and buy a car. I ca-

*ring ring* *ring ring*

My phone rings and I check the caller ID and it's Leilani. I answered it, "Hello?" "Aloha, Elena. I was just calling to let you know that one of our realtors will be at your apartment in less than 20 minutes." Whhaaaat?! "What for Ms. Kekoa?" I asked. I didn't know what was going on. "You guys are going house hunting! Figured since your off on Saturday, why not?" Oh I wonder who it's for. "Oh I guess. Who's the house for?" She chuckles lightly on the other side of the phone. "It's your house. The realtor will be showing you our personally owned properties. You will be shopping for something else as well. The realtor will explain it in detail and the benefits of it all. Have a nice day! Oh. Please just pick out what you want." She said real fast then hung up before I asked questions.

Why are they doing this? I need to get ready! I get up and run to the bathroom to brush my teeth again. I go back out to the closet put on some clothes. A nice t- shirt and jeans will do. Then I stepped back into the bathroom to put deodorant and perfume. I brushed my hair out.
Then I put on my shoes. The realtor should be here right about...

*ding dong*

Now.

I walk out to greet her. Her name is Melissa and then we head out to our seperate cars. And now I'm following her.
We drive for about 15 minutes and I notice we're in Waikiki instead of O'ahu. We come up to the first house and it's nice. We both hop out and she starts talking.
"Ok so Ms. Kekoa, told me you had to be close the company but you'd have to have a house in Waikiki. I don't know why. Anyways I just wanted to read out a few things to you." She said. "Go ahead." "Well first off. You do not have to pay for mortgage or put down any Down payments." She was about to continue when I stopped her. "Wait wait. Why is the company doing this? You know, buying me a house." I asked curiously and mainly confused.

"Oh it's a normal thing. I didn't understand it at first too, but whenever you start working for the company it's like you've become a part of the family. They take very good care of their employees. Which is why nobody complains. I asked Ms. Kekoa about it and she said that it was the Founder of the Company's idea. Most people used to live in their cars now have nice houses, some didn't have a car at all, now has one, I have a car now, because of the founder. That is why everyone is so fond of him.
But nobody has met or seen him. Well, except for the higher ups. I know it's been almost a month since you started, but as you saw that was a busy period of time for the company, so we couldn't get you settled in til now."
It was Stefans idea? That's all I'm thinking about. I don't even know why I'm surprised. He's always been a giving person. But he doesn't like receiving. It's a coincidence that we've met again. I honestly thought that

"Back to what I was trying to explain before, no mortgage or down payments. The only thing you need to pay are your utility bills. Follow me inside the house." She said.
She showed me the inside and we did the same thing
with the next few houses. I wasn't too happy about the first 3 houses. But when we drove a little further I could see the beach. There was a beautiful house for sale next to it and that's where Melissa and I stopped next. Seems like a modern area. The houses are modern but has that Hawaiian twist to it with open front yard. There are kids playing on the road.

The house that we were looking at was amazing inside and out. The backyard was literally the beach. The inside was modern but rustic at the same time. But most importantly it was cozy. "Now I hate to say it, but this is the last house we're going to be looking at for today. We can schedule another house hunt on Monday. We have to go somewhere else later. Since it's currently 3 in the afternoon. There are 5 bedrooms, 1 masters and 4 guestrooms, 4 and a half bathrooms, a kitchen and dining area that flows right into the living room area and a built in two door garage." She said smiling.

"I'll take this one." I said excitedly. "That's great news. I'll  email you the papers and all you have to do is slap your signature on it." She said chuckles as we're walking towards the car. "Okay the next thing is your car. It's all listed that this rental is under your name. So we'd like to provide you with your very own car." She said. Before I could get an answer in I spot an old lady walking up the stairs to her porch with groceries. She has a lot too. Her house is right next to the house we just walked out of. I decided to run over and help.

"Hey ma'am, you need any help?" She looks like she's about in her 60's. She smiles at me and said, "wait for it..." I'm confused until I see all the kids that were playing on the road run towards us. "Nana!! You need help?" She starts laughing. "Please stack them nicely on the floor in the kitchen. And maybe I'll give y'all some ice cream." After she said that the kids grabbed the bags from her hand and the others unload the car. "Wow. You have many helpers." We both laugh it out. And the she said, "thank you for trying to help. I've never seen you around. Are you going to be my new neighbor?" She said with all smiles. I'm glad that I have a nice lady as a neighbor. "Yes, I'm hoping to move in sometime next week."

"Well if you ever need a hand just knock on my door I got some boys that would be willing to help." She said and hurried inside. I giggled and went back to where Melissa was standing. "That was very nice of you. Now your car. Do you have the papers for it?" She asked. "I do." I said. I'm still confused. "Ok we will go turn the rental in first then head down the the car dealership. Let's go!" Before I could object she laughed and hopped in her car.

I just got back to my apartment. And now I have a Jeep Wrangler parked outside my apartment. Melissa wouldn't let me leave til I got the car I wanted. Now I need to start packing since I'm moving Friday of next week. I've really benefited a lot from this job. Now my challenge will be to clearly communicate with Stefan. Hopefully we could both be professionals about this.
And obviously keep our emotions in check.

Stefans POV:

"You didn't know she was here? Or the simple fact that she works for us now?" I asked klaus. We've been talking on the phone for a while now. "Of course not last I heard from my wife about Elena, she was still in Mystic Falls. I let Leilani hire people she feels is the best." He said. "You know what? It's not a big deal we've both moved on. Next time you talk to Care tell her I said thank you for the gift and tell that wife of yours to hurry back already." I said. We both chuckled a bit. "Will do mate. Can I ask you something Stefan?" He said seriously. "Go ahead."

"What are you benefiting from Elena becoming your agent? Like what are you expecting?" He said. "Elena  made some good deals in Virginia. Compared to our senior employees. And she's only been in the game for 3 months. She's a great member we need." I said. But for some reasoning felt unsure. "Don't lie to me. I'm your best friend. I can tell when you BS." He sighed. "I hate to bring it up, but you never told me what happened between the two of you."

"Yea. I guess it was just a hard topic to talk about. I mean if you had asked me about it three years ago. I would've changed the whole subject. Like to be honest. It was also something that I tried to brush under the rug." I said. "I hear you mate. But I feel like if you told somebody about it. You wouldn't have so much weight on your shoulders." He said. He's right. "Thank you bruv. Imma head to bed cause I'm going fishing with Michael at 4am tomorrow." I said. "Ok. Stay safe man." "I will bradah." I hang up.

I've done my night routine already and now I'm just laying on my bed. Thinking about my conversation with Klaus. Thinking back now on my past relationship with Elena, I'm positive that me and her would still be together, had we talk things out. Things started going down hill for us in December of 2010.
