Stefans POV:

I hear her sprinting towards me. What is she doing now?!! "No you don't get to leave. Not again. Let's not forget that you're the one that left, leaving me to feel the embarrassment of being cheated on."
I look over and she's in tears. I know she's just trying to make her self feel better after remembering what she did. "Let's not forget the one who ACTUALLY CHEATED Elena!!" And again Damon and Bonnie just stood there confused. "Wait Stefan. Are you saying that, Elena is the one that cheated on you?" Bonnie asked getting furious.

December  18th, 2010.
9: 45pm

Stefans POV:

Just ask politely if she's home Stefan.  Don't make things awkward. I knock on the door and her mom opened up with a smile on her face. Which disappeared after she realized it was me. "What brings you here around this time Stefan?" She asked nicely. "May I please speak with Elena?" She looks at me with pity really. "I'm sorry but she's spending the night at Caroline's tonight!" "Oh ok, Goodnight Mrs. Gilbert." She nods  and closes the door. I walk back to my car. And right after I jump in, and then it hits me. Elena hates Caroline's guts right now. Shxt!! Where is she??!!

*bing*

I get a notification and it's Klaus saying they were at the party. Party?  Ah! The beginning of X-mas break. Of course. That's where she went. I should go over there. Or should I? Nah I'll just wait for her to come back so we can talk privately. So I just sat there in my car. And I accidentally fell asleep around 3am.

*knock knock*
I jump up out of my sleep. And see who's knocking. It's Grayson. I turn on the car and row my window down. "You need to go home boy. It's 4 in the morning." What? Uugghh. Elenas probably asleep in her room now!  "I will sir." Before I leave he said something. "And Stefan? I think it's best if you don't come around here anymore." He said in a very deep voice and very serious. I just nodded and then drove off. I look behind me and he's still there.

Then I see a bag behind my seat. Who's bag? Oh! It's Matt's. I'll just drop it off since his house is only a few blocks away. He's probably knocked out after the party. Oh shucks. Hopefully he doesn't have company over.

I drive for a few more minutes before I pull up to his driveway. I see his car so he's most likely home. I reach to the back seat of my car and grab his gym bag. I open my door and hop out. I start making my way to his front door, but someone opens it. "Hurry up Matt! You needa drop me off now! Before anyone sees us." I couldn't believe it. "Wait! I can't find my keys. Stefans gonna kill me."  No! That's not her. I keep denying it. But then... she walks out of his house putting on a hoodie. And that's when I see it. HICKEYS! Wth! This isn't happening to me right now! Elena starts walking towards the car but I guess she finally saw me because she looked up and froze. "Elena? Elena?? What the heck?" Matt walks out looking frustrated. "Ele-." He looks up and froze as well.

Keep your cool Stefan. Deep breaths. I close my eyes and clenched my jaw. Then I open my eyes back and look at Matt. "I just came over to drop your bag of 'friend.' I apologize for interrupting you guys while y'all rekindle your love for one another."  I walk over and dropped the bag in front of him. And walked away. "Ste- Stefan. Stefan, Wait." Elena said following me. I take wide and fast steps. "Stefan. It's not what it looks like!" She tries to explain herself. I try to ignore herShe grabs my wrist. And tuns me around so I'm facing her. And then she hugged me tightly. "Please! I- I can make it up to you. We didn't do the deed I swear! Please Stef." She cries out. I look up at Matt. "You better not say a thing about this when school starts, Matt. The reason why Elena and I ended things was because I cheated. And that's it! If I hear a single rumor about this I will get you! And you..." I back away from her embrace and drop her hands. I sigh. "I hope you have a nice life Elena. I won't be in it from here on out." I said with a very calm but deep tone. I jump in my car and backup. I broke down as I start driving away because she starts chasing the car and calling out my name. At least you know your truth. You didn't cheat!

Present...

I look back at Elena and that seemed to calm her down a bit. "I swear Stefan, nothing happened between him and I." I chuckled. "Yes! Okay! I believe you!" I said which seems believable. "Really?"

"No!! What?! Your neck had hickeys on it that morning!" i said. "Well then why didn't you tell the whole town? Huh? Expose me and spared you the embarrassment and shame?? Because that's obviously why you're upset now!" She tried arguing. "You still don't get it do you? I was protecting you!! I could care less about what the town, or even what the world, said about me. But you...I knew you would get really upset over being called malicious names for cheating, than for them to show you pity. The saddest part is that I actually sat in my car that night in front of your house, waiting for you." And that seemed to have broken her down completely. "So you can say whatever you like, but I know my truth. So please. Leave me be, at least for a few days." I said before getting in my car and leaving. As soon as I'm far enough from her house I break down. Just balling my eyes out. I love this girl too much.
