Chapter Three…
When I heard Mel’s car horn beeping today, I was actually ready and had had my breakfast. I wasn’t sure whether or not to tell her about my incident with Zack last night, how would she take it? She wasn’t a virgin, so would she just think I was being stupid?
Sighing, I ran out to her car and jumped into the passenger side. “Hey Mel.” I greeted her.
“Hey Jessica.” She replied. “Did you have fun with Zack last night?” She asked, waggling her eyebrows.
I groaned. “No. I didn’t.” She gave me a puzzled look and I relayed my story back to her. “We were watching Star Wars,” Mel laughed, she always hated the films I liked, “and he started kissing me. So I kissed him back for a while, until he tried to take my bra off and I told him to stop. He got really mad and asked me if I was ever going to be ready.”
Surprise and shock flitted across her face. “Really? I never thought Zack would pressure you about something like that. He’s never done it before has he?” She checked, obviously concerned.
I shook my head, “He’s never complained about me not wanting to do it before.”
“Maybe he was just having an off day.” Mel suggested.
“Yeah, I suppose.” I said, unenthusiastically. I didn’t think that was the reason. He’d seemed fine the whole day. I decided not to press it and we moved on to lighter topics. Well, what Mel considered lighter topics. Basically, talking about Mr. Armstrong and how gorgeous he was.
When we pulled up to school, Zack was standing in the same spot as yesterday, looking a bit less cheerful today. When I hopped out of the car, he came over to me. “Hey babe, can I talk to you for a minute please?” He asked.
I nodded, following him over to a bench that had nobody around it. “I want to apologise for yesterday.” He said quietly. “I was just in a bad mood and I took it out on you. You know I’m happy to wait as long as you need to, I don’t want to pressure you into anything.” He assured me.
I smiled happily at him. I was a bit worried when he pulled me over to an abandoned bench. “That’s okay, I will be ready soon, just not yet.” I tried to make him understand.
“Don’t worry about it, I get it.” He responded.
I almost laughed. He most definitely didn’t get it, but I was happy to let him think he did. I looked back to his face and noticed the guilt present in his eyes. He really did feel guilty about pressuring me last night. I smiled and kissed him lightly. “Come on, lets get to class.” I suggested.
Classes were alright until it got to the period before lunch. This was when we had maths today. I groaned unattractively as Mel pulled me into the front seats again. “Haven’t you ogled him enough yet?” I muttered to her.
She shook her head enthusiastically. “I don’t think I will ever get bored of staring at him.”
