Song: Cool by Dua Lipa
"Good morning." I said walking into the kitchen.
"Good morning, sis." Aarav replied, concentrating on stir frying vegetables.
"Pasta?" I asked pouring myself a cup of coffee.
"Yup. White sauce." He replied pouring out the fried vegetables into a plate.
"Get me the flour, will you?" I said, taking control of the stove.
"So..."
Don't. Do not. Do the hell not.
"What happened last night?"
He did it.
"What will happen? Nothing happened. Why will something happen? Nothing happened. You saw me at dinner and then I watched Gilmore Girls for a while and then I fell asleep. Nothing happened."
Aarav laughed.
"Why are you laughing?" I asked.
"You forgot about the fact that I can tell when you lie."
Bloody twin genes.
"Okay fine. Sam and I made up. That's all."
"Made up or made out?* He asked with a smirk on his face. "Because as far as I remember, you came out of your room for dinner last night, with red ears and we both know, that only happens when we are angry or embarrassed."
"But-"
"Let me finish." He cut me off. "And if you were angry, you wouldn't have eaten dinner, I figured that you were embarrassed."
"So, what are we having today?" Naina asked entering the kitchen.
"Pasta." Aarav answered. "Alisha, how about you go and wake Sam. Naina and I can take it from here."
Why? God why? Why did you give me such an awful brother?
"Why don't you?" I said busily stirring the white sauce.
"No. No. I'm not going to wake that idiot up. Too much effort." Naina said.
"He won't wake up until you yell at him, Ally. You know it's been like that since we were 8."
"Ugh. Fine."
"Take your time, Choti." Aarav winked at me.
I fake smiled and told him to fuck off in the style every Friends fanatic sibling duo adapts.
"Sammy. If you don't want me to drag you out of bed like when we were in school, get up." I said entering the room.
Bed empty? It's barely 9! Sam doesn't wake up until 10!
"Sam? Sammy? Hawa ka jhoka?" I called.
I felt someone creeping up behind me.
"You seriously think thats gonna scare me?" I said turning around.
"Dhat! Kya Aloo! You spoiled the fun!"
"Chal. Tera favourite pasta bana hai."
"Aw. You're being the perfect future wife."
"Nononono. Slow down kiddo. Not that fast."
"Just kidding." He said laughing.
"Wait. You actually tried to scare her?" Aarav said as we sat in the balcony, getting the full effect of the breeze from the sea.
