"We need to get to work, Ally." Sam said.

"Five minutes." I said, tightening my grasp around him as I snuggled into his chest.

"You act like a baby sometimes."

Leo, our golden retriever jumped on the bed and started licking me.

"Wow. I thought you wanted me to stay in bed for five minutes."

"I did. Leo's here. I don't need you anymore." I said as I played with Leo.

"I regret my decision of adopting him sometimes." Sam said.

"Leo, Papa's a meanie." I said.

Leo woof-ed in agreement which caused me to burst in laughter.

Sam frowned.

"Frown all you want. I'm going back to bed." I said pulling the covers over my body.

"Ally, no. You need to get to work to."

"I don't want to."

"I'm going to take a shower. You should be up by the time I get out."

"Okay Mom. "

"On second thought, " he said, "wanna join me?"

I threw a pillow at him.

He dodged it and ran to the bathroom.

Sam and I were leading a happy and content life. It wasn't what I had presumed as that 18 year old girl, who couldn't wait to see what the world outside looked like.
Yes, we did live in a penthouse in Manhattan, but that was only because of the fact that the Legal and Entertainment industries paid us enough to own such a house.

We are still trying to pay off our loans for the house though. Adult-ing is terrible. I know.

Not everything had gone according to my plans. Our plan of having a live in relationship had gone for a toss since Sam was a senior partner at his firm in New York and I had to continue writing for my shows. We had to get married in the end. But it was a small wedding with just our two families.

We moved to New York together around a year ago, right after the two shows I was working on had concluded. Life in New York was not exactly how I had imagined it, or how they showed it in movies. It was way worse. We didn't have time for each other except weekends. Sometimes, both of us had to work on weekends, if Sam had a pending case or I had a deadline.

We tried to make as much time for ourselves as possible by going on dates on Friday evenings or  taking a break once every two months, going on a three or four day trip within the country. It was difficult, but we tried to work it out.

We argued a lot (that shouldn't be a surprise),  but we were happy in our small world, just two of us and Leo.

Naina and Aarav were back in Mumbai, in a world of their own.  They had come to visit us a month ago and the four of us visited California together. Naina had taken a chance and bought most of the BTS and GOT7 albums for a cheaper rate and taken them back to India. Yeah, we were obsessed, but we're proud fangirls.
The saddest part was that they couldn't bring Waffles. I miss her so much *insert crying emoji*.

Rishi and Kriti were living their own lives in London, with Krishi. In fact, they were pregnant again. It's been just three months, so Kritz has a long way to go. Krishi had started going to school and already had that 'English Accent'.

Well, Dhruv and Kabir.  It wasn't exactly a shock since I had noticed the sparks back during Naina and Aarav's wedding. They looked adorable together. They stayed in Manhattan too, and had a very cute cat called Mini. They were the closest thing we had to family in the US and we met up every weekend just to catch up.
For some reason, Sam was still jealous of Kabir? I don't know why. Sam's weird.

All of us were happy with our lives. We struggled to keep up,  but we weren't far behind.

Life goes on, let's live on.

And with these last few words, this author signs off. Thank you for being with me and tolerating my life story.

Adios.
