RECAP: Zea had been ignoring everyone for a whole month now and she still couldn't find the clues hidden in grandma's book. Her mom helps her understand that maybe she wasn't meant to do this alone and she needed everyone to help her destroy Seamus. Zea realizes her mistake and goes to meet Zach and they have a happy reunion. Now to the next part.
"We are home" Zach announced as soon as we entered his house
"Well hello there" Adora came from the living room but stopped when she saw me.
"Hey" I waved timidly at her giving a small smile, she turned around and looked at Zach who was now looking out in the far distance probably mind linking someone his eyes shifting from brown to golden to brown again.
An hour later everyone was seated on the living room sofa, mostly glaring at me and looking at each other. It felt like they were communicating through their eyes and I was the only one left out.
"Zea" Claire looked at me and sighed
"I'm s.." I began but Bel interrupted
"Before you start, we want to tell you something", I looked at them unable to interpret their expressions. My throat was dry and mind spinning from imagining a thousand scenarios. Before I could make it any worse for me , I was suddenly pulled in a giant hug by everyone.
"We missed you" everyone said in union. Happy tears filled my eyes and I blinked them away. After a minute or two everyone pulled away when I started coughing because they were literally strangling me.
"I can't believe I'm saying this shit but I really missed how much you annoyed me Zea" Jimin said giving me his cheeky smile.
I laughed and hugged him tighter making him groan. "Eww let go of me" he whined, "Stop being a drama queen. You admitted you missed me just a few seconds ago" I said grinning. "Zea, please for the love of God that was the last time I said that so stop being so clingy" Jimin said making everyone laugh.
It had been a while since I left alive. For a month I had made a wall around me and didn't let anyone break it down. For a while it felt good, it felt like I was doing something but all I was doing was pushing myself in the dark abyss which I had created myself. I wasn't alive, I was just existing. It's such a simple statement but holds such deep meaning. Days passed and I was just a lifeless body existing trying to save everyone but how could I when I wasn't even trying to save myself. Now I knew better, now I knew I needed them, I needed them to feel alive because I wasn't alone after all. I always had them and will forever have them.
We didn't talk about Seamus that day. We just laughed, danced, watched movies and played games like normal teenagers. For a while it was good to forget about everything and just enjoy these little moments in life.
It was 6 in the morning when everyone went to sleep. I stood in the backyard looking at the rising sun. The warmth of its rays, the morning wind, dew drops on leaves, birds chirping sometimes you just need that to smile.
"Coffee?" Ethan asked smiling as he stood beside me.
"Thankyou" I said taking the mug from him, "I'm sorry, how long have you been standing here" I asked sipping the coffee
"Oh just a few minutes, you looked so happy so didn't want to interrupt but I couldn't wait longer or the coffee would have turned cold" he said. I nodded and turned to look at the rising sun again.
"Have you found anything?" Ethan asked after a few minutes
"Nothing that could help us, I'm afraid" I said giving him a small smile.
"Can you show me the book?" he asked and I nodded and brought the book from inside. Well it had been a habit of mine to carry it everywhere. I handed over the book over to Ethan and we started looking for clues again. It still looked the same to me to be honest. After a while Ethan's eyes grew wide as he stared at the picture in front of us. I looked down and saw the picture of the balcony of a castle where the prince lived.
"Can it be?" Ethan asked, "What?" I asked obviously confused.
"Zea" he looked at me, "maybe we aren't lost after all" was all he said before pulling me with him.
For the past hour I have been asking Ethan about where we were going but he just shut me down. I gave up and looked outside the window. We were in a secluded part of the town. No one really came here but then I had no idea why we were here and what exactly can be here. After taking more than a few turns that no normal man can memorise and I don't even think he should God knows what was hidden here. The forest on either side grew thicker and suddenly Ethan stopped the car in the middle of the road. We got down and looked in front smiling.
"Umm E, can you tell me why are you even smiling and what are we even doing here?" I asked
"Come" was all he said before walking towards the fog. I walked through the fog which was so thick I couldn't even see my feet. I bumped into someone and groaned. I seriously needed to stop bumping into everyone.
"You really need to look where you're going" E said smiling and nudged me to look in front when I gave him a confused look.
I turned to look in front of me and gasped as I the castle in front of me. It looked straightt out of fairytale. Yes, a fairytale, wait the book, the picture, it was the castle as the book. I looked at E who looked like a kid in a candy store or if he had just drank fresh blood, you know to be more specific to his joys.
"This is where our parents live but they're in France right now. No human can come here, this place was enchanted since we were born. But in order for us to blend in we moved to the town side. My parents and Jimin's parents usually stay here and handle our clan. The balcony showed in the book faced the sun and lake. There was a lake here when we were kids but it dried out." Ethan continued telling me the history of their castle as we went inside.
"It must be here somewhere" E said as we reached the second floor. "That room" he said as he opened the door revealing a big, very big room. I had never seen such a huge room in my entire 18 years of existence. I stood there taking in the beauty of the room when E called out. "Zea here" he said from the balcony. I went over there to see Ethan almost leaning over the rails. "E what are you doing?" I asked running to him. "Wait a minute" Ethan said as he removed a few blocks out. He proceeded to remove a shining knob from where the blocks were previously. "Zea a lil help here" he said and I went and helped him up.
"See" he showed me the knob, smiling brightly. "It looks like its a piece of some tool" Ethan said
I took the block from him and examined it. The front of the knob had the impression of three holes. Maybe something was taken out from it.
"Maybe the book has clues which are connected to all of us. Look I don't know what this means and how this will help us in killing Seamus but maybe we should give it a try and tell others to read the book as well, maybe we will get somewhere" Ethan said.
He was right, maybe we will find something which will help us kill Seamus. Maybe it was not so difficult after all. Mom was right, I needed them, I had the clues in front of me but I couldn't recognize them without them.
"E, I guess its time for us to go back and get to work" I smiled at him.
