Prologue

Springfield, Massachussetts

April 1st 2013

 It was a typical spring day, Angelina Burbank was getting ready for work, after that she started on breafast for herself, and her two nieces, Caroline and Madison. "Girls, wake up! You got school! Breakfast is almost ready!" Angelina called out. "We're on our way, geez!" mumbled one voice, and a blonde haired teenage girl slowly enters the dining room, pulling her hair up in a pony tail. "Isn't Madison awake?" asked Angelina. "She is. She's using the bathroom at the moment." Caroline replied.  "Aunt Angie, Madison and I are planning to go to the movies tonight, if you don't mind." said Caroline. "I don't mind. Besides its the weekend. You two need that quality time together, since the both of you had been busy with your classes and activities." said Angelina.  "We're going to see The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug!" said Caroline. "Again? Wasn't that the third time you seen it?" asked Angelina with a chuckle. "Actually make that fourth. The first time we went to see it, you were with us, and you went ape shit over the dwarf leader." joked Madision, entering the room as she still brushing her brown hair.

 "Maddie, please don't brush your hair at the table.  You could've done that before you entered the dining room." said Angelina. "Sorry, Aunt Angie." Madison replied.  Angelica Burbank had taken Caroline and Angelina in her custody because both of their parents had died during a bank robbery when they both gotten shot by the suspect. Both Caroline and Madison were very young when the lives of their parents had been taken, and Angelina stepped in and she raised both girls since then. When breakfast ended, both girls went to school, and Angelina went to work.

Middle Earth,

Mid April 2941

 "If there are trolls, there must be a troll cave somewhere!" said Thorin to Gandalf. "Lets search for the cave!" said Gandalf.  Thorin rounded up his Company, as he led them into the Troll's lair, followed by Gandalf.  The Company dispersed, rummaging through the treasure, while Gandalf walked over to Bilbo, giving him a short sword. Meanwhile, Thorin found a sword of his own, and he took it.    "Hey Fili! There is something back here, you got to see this!" exclaimed Kili. Fili ran over to his brother, as they could see a large dark hole in the wall of the cave. "Kili, I think we better join the others. That black hole isn't supposed to be here." said Fili, suspiciously.  "But, shouldn't we check it out? I don't see any harm in it." said Kili.  "Kili, I wouldn't do it.  There is something about this black hole I don't like. Lets just go back to the others, okay?" said Fili. 

 But Kili ignored his brother as he stepped towards the black hole. To Fili's shock and horror, Kili had disappeared!  "KILI!!" cried out Fili, now panicking.  The young dwarf bolted back to the Company. "Uncle Thorin! Gandalf! Something's happened to Kili! He's disappeared in thin air! You have to come and see this!!" cried out Fili. "What are you talking about, lad? Kili just walked out of the cave!" said Gloin. "No he didn't! He saw this black hole, and stepped into it, and disappeared! I swear, I'm telling the truth!" said Fili.  "Fili's right, we better go see this." said Gandalf.  Thorin growled, as the Company followed Gandalf and Fili to where the black hole had been discovered by the young dwarves.  And fortunately, the black hole is still there.  "I warned Kili not to mess with it, but he wouldn't listen to me, and stepped into it anyway. I told him something was not right about it." said Fili.  "You are right, Fili. There is something not right about this black hole---it must be a portal of some sort." said Gandalf. 

 "I don't care what it is! I want Kili to be found!! We cannot afford any more delays!!" bellowed Thorin. "What are we going to do then?" asked Bilbo.  "We have to go and get Kili." said Gandalf.  "You're not suggesting that we should enter the portal, are you?" asked Thorin. "We have no other choice, Thorin. If you wish to get Kili back, that's the  only thing we have to do." said Gandalf. "Very well. Lets do this." said Thorin.  And so Gandalf, followed by Thorin, Bilbo and the rest of the Company,  enters the black hole.
