Chapter Three

And so all three women agree to sign the contract. "I have one question however!" spoke up Angelina before she signed her contract. "And what is that, Miss Burbank?" said Gandalf. "Will we come back once the quest is over?" asked Angelina.  "I don't know, Angelina. We will see how everything will turn out." Gandalf replied.  "So you're saying we may not come back at all?! So that means I'm going to miss Homecoming, Prom, and my High School Graduation?!" snapped Madison.  "What's prom, homecoming and high school graduation?" asked Kili. "They'll get to that momentarily, Kili." said Thorin.  "Girls, I really hate to say this--but you may not come back." said Gandalf, gravely. "Are you frikken kidding me? No, no, this cannot be happening! We have to come back! Our life is here in Springfield!!" shouted Madison. "Girls, you signed the contract! You can't back up now." said Balin.   "Great! We're going to miss school! We're never going to see dances, the graduation or college!!" snapped Caroline, as she bolted to her room, slamming the door behind her.

   "Will someone please explain to me what was all that about?" asked Fili.  Angelina explained to the Company of the customs of education their world, and she also told them about dances, football games, and graduation. Thorin and Balin exchanged looks. "Balin, they cannot go.  They have a life here. They will miss out on everything that means to them if they went." Thorin whispered to his friend. "You are right laddie. They will miss a lot of important things to them, if they had left with us, such as their education, which is very, very important to the young girls." said Balin.  "Its too late now, Balin. They already signed the contracts." said Thorin.  "Maybe once we get to Erebor, we'll make sure these girls get their education." said Balin.  Thorin nodded.   Angelina realized that she'll have to retire from her job as well, since  she is going.  "But first, we must get Caroline to continue the research on the portal." said Thorin.

 "Thorin, she is as tad upset at the moment, maybe I can do it." spoke up Madison.  Thorin nodded, as he watched Madison walk away to her room. "Now for the sleeping arrangements." spoke up Angelina.  "It appears that some may have to sleep on the floor. Balin and Dwalin will have the recliner and love seat--Bilbo can have the couch--which leaves down to three people." said Gandalf. "Thorin, Fili and Kili." said Angelina. "Where are we going to sleep?" asked Kili.  Angelina hated the thought of having the young dwarves share rooms with her nieces, but it left her no other choice.  "Fine. Fili, you will bunk with Caroline, and Kili, you will share with Madison! But let me warn you--no funny shit! Or I willi take my cutting knife to you! Is that understood?" said Angelina. "You really think my nephews are like that, Miss Burbank? Let me inform you,  that we are never that way!" snapped Thorin.  

  Angelina remained silent. "My apologies, Thorin." said Angelina.  "And what about me?" asked Thorin, folding his arms across his chest. "The Garage." Angelina replied. "You can't be serious?! You're going to make our leader sleep outside?" said Dwalin. "Well he's not bunking with me!" said Angelina.  "Miss Burbank, you have no other choice." said Gandalf. "Fine." said Angelina.

 As the evening progressed, Angelina sat outside on the front porch, drinking a bottle of beer, and puffing on a cigarette.  Her head was pounding due to the days events, which felt very stressful to her.  How did she ended up in this mess? And she realized it was too late to get out of it too.  She thanked God that she had her guns, and several daggers that will protect herself and her nieces from anyone of harming her.  And she swore to herself if any of the dwarves attempt to harm herself or her nieces in any way, she will take action, and shoot the dwarves.Suddenly, she could hear the front door of her home, open,  and she could hear heavy footsteps stepping outside.  "Having some alone time, Miss Burbank?" asked a deep voice. Angelina looked up and she could see Thorin looking at her.
