Eitan Weinstein- Irish-American (mother) Ashkenazi Jewish (father); Eitan is an ingenious boy of Irish and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry who attends the middle school and is distinguishable for his intelligence and slight neuroticism. The son of Stan Weinstein, a widely acclaimed dentist for Valley Stream Modern Dental and Esther Weinstein, a criminal defense lawyer who currently serves as district judge, he is generally caring and well-behaved, as well as mature for his age. He typically serves as the mentor among his peers and is smart, eccentric, funny, cool, creative, thoughtful and curious. As an only child for much of his life, he often feels lonely, socially isolated, and misunderstood when his social awkwardness brings unintended discomfort to those around him. Peculiar and described as a "prodigy", Eitan is a master statistician and is excellent with numbers, in addition to having a sharp memory and good recall for detail. Despite his significant book smarts and knowledgeability in his studies, he has low emotional intelligence and appears to lack empathy for others or a proper understanding of social constructs. He can also appear unintentionally blunt and inconsiderate when suddenly making a direct, brutally honest remark that others perceive as rude or insensitive due to his lack of social awareness. He has specific habits that include eating his food in a certain, specified way, labeling objects and organizing his room in a specific order, and color-coding his similar-looking outfits to precision. Eitan is quite passionate, committing his early years to focusing on academic success, and inherited his love for science from his father, leading him to create inventions since he was young. He is often able to look at his environment and find surprising patterns and connections between two seemingly unrelated things.
Highly innovative and bright, he is incredibly good with technology and the sciences, being able to construct random devices from scratch and build PCs from collected components. He developed an inclination for technology at an early age, taking apart his family's TV as a 9 year old, and loves to tinker with objects to discover their essence and put them back together. Eitan once lived at West Elkins Street, but now resides in the Weinstein Manor, which has golden gates customized with "W.W" initials, as well as a wax tiger statue, a large chandelier, and a helipad surrounded by bushes and two small fountains. As a teenager, he and his school friends developed a phone app that allowed them to hack into almost any electronic device, including military-grade equipment. While he is described as somewhat nerdish in his habits, he is usually cooperative, as well as a deep thinker who loves to analyze situations and debate theoretical possibilities. He is especially interested in abstract mathematical and scientific concepts and is often regarded as being an amateur inventor. Eitan loves meaningful discussions and can sometimes baffle others with his large vocabulary and deep conversation topics. This leads to his often being misunderstood by his classmates during conversations and misconstrued as being pretentious and insufferable. He is considered a precocious child with a massive amount of intellect, taking pleasure in reading texts on Greek mythology, quantum physics and astronomical theory. He enjoys reading Charlie Strauss books and will seldom be seen leaving his room without his Raspberry Pi, a tiny and affordable computer that he uses to learn programming through fun, practical projects. Eitan is a devout member of the chess and track teams and participates in the happy cluckers club, in addition playing the harmonica and having an interest in folk music.
He made it to the final round of the annual spell-a-thon, but didn't win after all because he misspelled the word "fear", and he also led the winning team of the Arithmattack competition. He first became friends with Anthony Rodriquez in kindergarten when he sat next to him while drinking milk and spent a significant amount of time in the company of his bodyguard, Valdez. After he makes him laugh and squirt milk out of his nose by making fart noises, he thinks that is funny, forming their friendship. Eitan suffers from executive dysfunction however, making it slightly difficult for him to attend to his basic needs or deal with practical matters. He can be somewhat of a "momma's boy" as well, always repeating things his mother tells him and using her advice to rationalize his circumstances and make decisions. He sometimes overestimates himself and can exclude others from helping him on class assignments, a habit which often backfires on him later on. Although his social skills are sometimes lacking due to his pedantic demeanor, he is loyal and knows a lot of information, having a deeply complex mind that is keen in assessing intricate possibilities. Eitan does not appear to have many close friends beyond the acquaintances he has made in his classes however and often feels isolated due to his intelligence. As a boy who is said to have an estimated IQ of 150, he claims at times that he would gladly "trade some IQ points" simply to have more friends and have an easier time socializing with other people. He is in the talented and gifted program at the school and excels in many of his advanced courses, but sometimes wishes he could form deeper connections with his peers. He can sometimes be misconstrued as being proud and conceited due to his reserved demeanor, although his quietude is mainly out of shyness and occasional discomfort when exposed to unfamiliar surroundings.
