Lola Betancur- Venezuelan (mother); English/Scotch-Irish (father); Lola is a gamer girl from a neighboring high school in Valley Stream who develops a mutual attraction to Alec Buckley and pursues a romantic relationship with him. She is seen as a "cute but edgy" blonde and shown to be the best at organizing events and occasions out of all her friends, with a love of shopping and makeup, as well as her gadgets and technology. She is currently the administrator of a South Park-related wiki and spends much of her time chatting with her online friends on forums. She tends to be reserved at school and has an aura of mystery to her demeanor, but can be incredibly loyal to the few people whom she trusts. Lola's mother is mentally ill, having developed agoraphobia and obsessive-compulsive disorder sometime during her early childhood. Since her father is dismissive of her agoraphobia, she has had to look out for her mother, taking care of her medications and protecting her from him and the outside world. This took a personal toll on her and caused her to have a hard time asking others for help, leading her to become incredibly withdrawn and devote much of her free time to journaling. Her involvement in her school's theatre club has allowed her to branch out substantially however and made her a confident person who is unafraid to express herself. Lola can be very compassionate and kind and shows a desire to make real friends, although she is prone to holding grudges and tends to fixate on things. She isn't afraid to tell others what she thinks or believes, but has a hard time with her emotions, especially in unfamiliar settings. There are some moments in which she can be enthusiastic and friendly however, particularly when she is discussing a subject that interests her.
She can also be stubborn sometimes and is shown to engage in playful debates with her friends, showing a bit of a sarcastic side to her personality. Lola is usually seen as being highly independent, intelligent, artsy and very caring, as well as slightly protective of others. Throughout her youth, she is shown to always put the needs of others ahead of herself, even if it costs her trouble. She loves her younger brother Jude very much, always putting him ahead of herself and has even risked her life for him. As a result of taking care of Jude for most of her life, she has a strong tendency to sometimes act like his mother instead of his sister, much to Jude's frustration. Despite her maternal instincts, Lola has a tendency to get herself into dangerous situations by choosing not to trust the adult figures in her life. She demands honesty from her loved ones, although she herself keeps secrets and harbored some resentment toward her mother for their living situation. While she is open-minded towards sexuality, gender, race, and other social issues, she is quick to judge others with a differing opinion. She also found herself unhappy with her life and job, hating having to work for a manager who failed to recognize the injustices surrounding his coworkers. When Lola allows herself to be vulnerable with those around her, she can be quite fun, loose, and free-spirited, as she has the capability to confide in her romantic partners about her troubled past. She is a sensitive type of person who is known for her musical talent and is also very selfless, showing her love for others through her actions. She is considered neither a geek nor a popular kid, as she falls somewhere in between, and most of her closest friends are fellow South Park fans.
She is a brilliant coder who discovered her skills in high school after joining the STEAM team and aspires to attend MIT upon graduating in order to become a software engineer. Despite her confident exterior, underneath it all, Lola can be very insecure and sometimes caves into peer pressure in order to be accepted. For instance, when seeing her old friend Charlie had a new "alternative" scene and friends, she pierced her nose herself at home to fit in. She is generally easygoing and jokes around a lot and became a female boxer so that he could have a way to release her aggression, which helped her immensely. She also loves to read and is shown to be a fan of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, in addition to having a fascination for werewolves. Regardless of her distaste for whatever "the sheep" are fond of, Lola does secretly desire to be welcomed by the popular crowd. She believes strongly in karma and is also a huge fan of horror movies, the clichés of which will sometimes dictate how she performs in challenges. She can be a bit awkward and self-conscious when flirting with the opposite sex, although most of her good friends are boys. She reflects her attitude towards life through many of her fashion choices, which consist of graphic t-shirts with sayings on them, as well as references to certain fandoms and shows. Lola first meets Alec Buckley when he falls for her at first sight upon watching her perform an acoustic rendition of "Daughters" by John Mayer on her guitar. He immediately feels conflicted in regards to his feelings due to being romantically involved with Emma Tran at the time, but proceeds to invite her to play video games at his house while his parents are away.
This culminates in the two of them spending time together repeatedly over the course of the following weeks, leading them to share a spontaneous kiss on one occasion while walking their pet dogs at the park. A distraught Emma begins to feel a pang of jealousy and becomes increasingly possessive of Alec and his time, although the two ultimately break up shortly before their senior prom. Lola begins to fall in love with Alec over the course of the following summer, during which they volunteer together at a food bank. He becomes one of her most loyal followers on social media and supports her when she posts YouTube videos in which she streams the video games she plays. They officially become a couple when he asks her on a date to the renaissance fair in Ithaca, New York, after which they pursue a long-distance relationship for about a year before she transfers to his college. The two decide to let their romance take its natural course, and she eventually introduces him to her family, during which he bonds well with her younger brother. Lola speaks Spanish fluently, as she is of fully Venezuelan descent from her mother's side of the family, despite passing for being white. She feels pride in regards to her heritage and claims that she comes from a very typical Hispanic family, in which many of her relatives are very loud and festive. She considers herself a homebody however and is not much of a partying type, staying away from busy settings and preferring to spend time listening to music or reading in her room. She is familiar with some dishes from her father's native culture, such as yuca, sanchocho, and picadillo, although she tends to enjoy American cuisine more and is fond of licorice, cold pizza and pickles.
Lola is an attractive girl with long dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes, a heart-shaped face and a light complexion, and she stands at around 5 ft 5 in tall. She usually wears her hair loose and tends to part it down the middle, and she often refers to herself as a "tomboy with a girly streak" due to her preference for jeans and converse sneakers to dresses. She is quite good at doing her makeup however and normally wears nude lips and a bit of eyeshadow, and she has a smattering of freckles on her nose. She has a slender build and considers one of her main hobbies outside of boxing to be weightlifting, which keeps her body toned and in shape. Lola tries to use her social media platform to bring awareness to mental health issues and advocate for those who struggle with such disorders, admitting she used to suffer from social anxiety when she was younger. She becomes closer to her father as she matures, with him using some of his funds in order to help her pay off her college debt. She purchases her first car sometime in her early twenties, which is a silver Chevy with blue bucket seats that she buys for 500 dollars, although she is proud of the vehicle simply because it is hers. She becomes highly respected among the online South Park fandom and devotes a lot of her time to trying to nurture the virtual friendships she has created. Lola considers herself a "fur mom" and is the proud owner of 3 dogs, which are of a mixed schnauzer and poodle breed. Upon leaving her previous work place, she pursued her objective of using her coding skills to create an app alongside a team of women. As she searched for the "new Lola" she accepted a position as a paralegal at a law firm, but later decided pursue her beauty app with her former team of women. She continues to date Alec steadily and after a 6 year relationship, they become engaged before finally relocating to Seattle, Washington. ISFP 9w8
