"Sir, we have good news," my right hand man reported to me himself. If he came all the way here to give me some information, then it must be really important.

"What is it?"

"We found your daughter. Maria Camilla is still alive," what a job well done. I was expecting this for quite a while now.
It's time for me to punish Marshal for all of the things he had me go through in the past.

"Where did you find her?" I asked.

"She was raised by Simón Alves sir."
"That bastard had her all this while and kept her from me. If this is the way he plans on taking revenge then he's gonna pay,"I growled.

Simón, Marshall and I had been friends since we were teenagers but we ended up fighting because of anger and that anger has turned to hate.

Whatever happens from now, I'm gonna have to make sure that Marshall feels what it's really like to lose someone you love so dearly.

I want to see him cry and ask for his death and I know I'm running out of time. I can't let everything I've worked so hard for fall apart right infront of me.

"Sir, do you want me to do anything?"
"No, as of now, I'll take care of this matter myself," thinking thoroughly, there's just the right person for this job.

*Maria Camilla*

At exactly eight o'clock am, I reported to the General's office in my full military uniform on my first day at service.

"General," I saluted in respect and turned to Major too who saluted back at me.

Seems like the two men where really in a deep conversation. It didn't look good at all. I can tell by the looks on their faces.

I grew up on the streets, I've met so many people, I've been with so many of them, that I can frequently know what's on their minds.

"Lt. Del Rosario, it's good that you're here early. Major Andrade will show you around camp and then you'll start working on your first case together with your team members," he explained handing Major some files.

"You don't have to worry about anything, Adrade is responsible and reliable too. I assure you," well I hope so. I really don't know the guy and from the encounter yesterday, I can't describe him in one word.

"Copy," I said and he nodded looking between the both of us. It wasn't like I didn't want to get to know Major but I was expecting to get paired up with a girl or someone unlike him.

Since we're both offering our services here, we'll be seeing more of each other from now on.

"permission to leave sir," with all seriousness, Major spoke confidently with a perfect salute.
"Granted," General nodded and he turned to me with a gesture to proceed first but I stopped at the voice.

"Lt, Del Rosario," General Marshaal De Leon called from behind me.
"Yes sir!" By now, Major was already outside waiting.
"You look so familiar," familiar. That's it. Now that he has mentioned it himself, I am sure there is a connection between the both of us.

It may seem strange but whenever I am present infront of him, I feel something unexplainable. Something I can't exactly place my finger on.

Not knowing what else to do at the moment, I nodded my head with a pressed smile. Turning on my heels, I walked out of the office.

Marshaal De leon.

Whatever it is about him, I don't think we know each other. Maybe it's just that we're both impressed by each other. I shouldn't be thinking too hard on this.

"Is everything okay?" I hadn't notice I've been in my own space for a while until Major spoke to me.
"More than ever," a heavy sigh came out from my nostrils while I shoved the thought away.

"So where do we start from?" My hands went back into my pockets, something I do very often.
"The medical center." That reminded me of my former job after I graduated from high school.

I worked as a nurse before getting into the Military. It was a good experience and sometimes I consider myself lucky because I've seen so many parts of life and experienced alot of them.

I've done alot of things while growing up on the streets.
These streets thought me how to survive and made me who I am today, that's why no matter where I go or where I am, I can never change the fact that I'm a street girl.

It's who I am and I'm not ashamed to tell the world unlike my parents who were ashamed to raise me as their daughter.

"Earth to Lt. Del Rosario," Major waved his hand infront of me.
"This here is the medical center," he pointed at a well built long building.
At the other side, my eyes caught the huge gate that opened and people rushed in with wounded soldiers.

"What's happening?" Without answering, he took off to the direction and I followed suit. There was no way I was staying back. Why would I?

"Mantoya, what's happening here?" He asked.
"They were attacked by the rebels at the border. Things have been under control as of now but most of the soldiers are badly wounded." The guy explained rapidly.
Rebels are threatening to enter the country?

From the gate, I saw soldiers bringing in dead bodies in a line. Their family and loved ones must be really affected. Being a soldier is a risk but sometimes, sacrifices have to be made.

I watched Major run his hand through his wet black hair, a hand resting on his waist with a sympathetic look on his face.

His walkie talkie beeped and he brought it out.
"Major Andrade, this is General De leon. report ASAP," the voice spoke. Seems like the General has already gotten the news.
"Bring Lt. Del Rosario with you." he turned me in a fast motion. With the way he looked at me, it was as if he was saying I don't have to tell you anything. You already heard.

The both of us got moving, jogging to the General's office.
"General."
"The rebels have striked for the second time which means, continuing to take this lightly will bring bigger problems. We have to stop them as soon as possible before they enter our country. If that happens, this place will be a chaos," the General was much more calm than I expected but I could see his tense.
He stood behind his chair pacing front and back.

"Major, I want you and Lt. Del Rosario to go there with the troops. Keep the place under surveillance 24/7. We'll send as many soldiers as we can just to ensure your safety". his voice turned deep and straight. With no emotion whatsoever.

"Copy," said Major.

"Lt. Del Rosario, this is your very first task. I hope you're ready. We to save our country," he fisted his hands and placed them on his desk.

"Yes sir!"

"Move!" He ordered. Both Major and I rushed outside.
"Intel. Come in!"from outside I heard General almost yell.

"Where are the rebels from?" I asked as major and I got our selves armed.
"They've lived in Spain for all their lives. They requested for a place in Spain to stay after they first fought to rule the country themselves. To maintain peace and harmony, their request was granted by the president. He cut out a place in Spain for them to stay with terms and conditions but seems like they want more than just that now," I loaded my gun and made sure everything was good as he explained.

"Ready?" He heaved a sigh when we both stood still.
"For our country."
