*Major*

My conversation with the batallion commander just ended so I returned to my post but there was no sign of Del Rosario instead, there was Lt. Garcia.
"Where is Del Rosario?" I asked thanking Lt. Santos for watching over for me.
"She said she had to go somewhere," he said.
"Has it been long?"
"A little."

Where could she have gone?

"I'll see what I can do but I'm not promising anything," looking at each one of them has touched my heart.
These people can't just die like this. I'll have to do something to get them out of here.
With all the suffering they've been through, they don't deserve to be here.

"Does that mean you're on our side?" Felipe walked around me.
"I already told you I'm not a rebel. I'm doing this to maintain peace. You'll walk into Spain, live your lives normally with no chaos. I have my terms and conditions," I said clearly.

My watch started beeping, I was running out of time. I have only sixty seconds to return to the barracks before anyone notices my absence.

"I have to go now, I'll see you tomorrow," with that, I silenced the watch and put my mask back on.

All eyes were on me as I carefully made my way back but a hand stopped me.
"There's a faster was to your barracks, the coast is clear there. No soldier knows of that place yet," Paulo led the way.

Looking sideways, front and back was essential. It's better to be safe than sorry.
"Are you working for the Military too?" As we kept moving, he asked without a look at me.

"I'm a soldier paulo, but how did you guys end up here?" Checking my watch, I was left with fourty two seconds.
"We protested to be heard and given a chance to live like normal spinards after you got adopted but they didn't hear our appeal so we did what we know best... Violence."

"Alot of people died so for the sake of peace, the president cut out this small place for 'rebels' " he almost laughed.

"They gave us the title when we weren't but we grew tired of living in this forest they call a place. We want to live, we want equality," the government back then must have been very cruel.

"Who was the Military General at that time?" I asked. It might help some other time.
"Sergio Bautista. That's when it all started." Somehow, I'm glad that General Del Lione had no major hand in this.

At exactly thirty seconds, I reached the barracks.
"Take care of yourself Paulo," giving him a quick hug, he pressed a smile.
"Take care of yourself too," he smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder.

Twenty nine seconds to get ready and return to post. Quick, I made it to the other side safely, got into my uniform and made my way to the other soldiers.
At the other end, slight movements could be heard but when I looked it was no one.

"It's a rabbit," I said to the other soldiers. Now I can make my way to my post with a reasonable excuse.

From afar, Major watched me approach him so I kept my head down but all the while, I could feel his eyes on me.
"Where did you go?"
"Thank You," first I thanked the guy that stood up for me before averting my attention to him.
