Chapter 19: Warmth

"I want to come back here." Yaya said to him, sipping on the best hot chocolate she had in her entire life.

"Here? In this restaurant? " He asked. Looking outside the snow covered view below and the sight of Matterhorn. They were currently on a restaurant above one of the mountains. Already done with the snow, they took a break from skiing, finding out just how sensitive they both were with the ice. Skiing was fun but they didn't think it was fit for them.

"Switzerland." She smiled at him.

Smiling back, Nadech took both her hands in his and blew on it to warm it up. "Honeymoon?" He asked kissing the inside of her palms gently.

Yaya pinched his nose making him yelp in surprise. "What Honeymoon are you talking about? We aren't even married yet. "

Both their eyes widened with surprise at her choice of words.

Barry burst into laughter, his deep laugh sending flurries inside her heart. Yaya will never get enough of seeing him so unrestrained. She knew just how unfeeling he is to others, now this man willingly shares his unreserved laughter with her.

"Yet huh? "He wiggles his eyebrows teasingly, mirth apparent in his eyes.

She just rolled her eyes, throwing her gloves at him, earning another deep chuckle that made her heart warm and her cheeks blush.

"I'll woo you till you say yes. Got it! " He raised his hands up in mock surrender, earning another glove his way.

After dining at the restaurant they decided to take more pictures of each other before getting inside the cable car. There was only 2 of them inside which was very convenient.

The view outside was spectacular, the light coming from the sun can still be seen emitting an orange glow. The shadows of the mountains slowly appearing as the sun goes down taking its time to disappear fully.

Yaya who was still mesmerized by the scenery heard the continuous clicking of the camera from beside her.

"Hey. Enough with my pics okay? Look at the view outside, it's beautiful. " She scolded him playfully.

"You're Beautiful bunny." He said in a teasing voice, but his tone held sincerity.

Yaya shook her head with resignation, giving up on the man's ability to flirt with her endlessly. 'This man was feared in Asia and he's here with a goofy grin in front of her. "

"Do you want to go Ice skating later? I'll have Akira close down the whole place so you won't be too embarrassed to fall down like earlier. " He said giving her a beaming smile.

"You're the one who kept bumping onto me that's why I kept falling and you were whining about the cold that's why I was embarrassed." She countered, playfully smacking his arms.

"I wanted you to hold me bunny. The trainer was scary. "

"He was the one scared of you, you kept scowling at him whenever he teaches me and for your information he already has a wife." Yaya stated poking Barry's Dimpled cheek.

"You g- Bear the Cable car stopped." She said noticing the stillness of their vehicle.

"Come here." Barry said taking her hands in his hold and putting his arms around her. The lights in their Cable car were flickering, the sun was setting slowly, darkening the whole space. "It's okay, the station is signaled whenever a cable car stops." Barry assured Yaya.

"What if they weren't signaled?" She asked. She really wasn't that worried, the warmth of his arms around her banished any form of uneasiness in her.

"Then we'll have to stay here the whole night." He stated. There weren't any signal in their spot and they were stuck about 40 ft. off the ground, which relieved them because it wasn't that high up.

After a while the sun has gone down and Yaya was halfway through Barry's Lap because he noticed her getting cold earlier. A sound from below startled them. It was a beeping sound coming from another vehicle. Looking down they saw 2 snow mobiles parked at the bottom. They saw a man waving at them, signaling them to open the emergency door at their right.

The door was narrow and there was also a ladder at the compartment of their seats which will help them get down.

"Sir we were instructed to take you to the nearest cable station." The man with a thick accent in a full mask instructed Nadech.

"We'll have a passenger each sir." The other man instructed.

"But we can perfectly fit in one snow mobile." Nadech stated holding onto Yaya's hands tightly.

"Sir, you just need to follow our instructions."

"No." Nadech declined immediately and assisted Yaya to get on the mobile before following suit.

"But Mister..."

"I will not be separated from my wife and that's final." His voice held a tinge of threat silencing the other driver who was about to speak up.

"Sir We really..." He immediately shut up sensing the menace coming from the man.

The driver went to his seat glancing nervously at his companion.

The mobile moved slowly, all they could see through the darkness was a blanket of snow and trees at their right and a cliff at a distance to their left.

The light of the mobile was very bright, making it easy for the driver to see any obstruction along the way.

Nadech held Yaya's gloved Hands in his to warm her up a little. "I guess the Ice skating can move tomorrow huh?" He asked her.

Before she could even reply, a rumbling sound was heard and the ground started shaking as if something very heavy was heading their way.

Nadech sensed something wrong with the situation making him hold Yaya in his arms tightly.

Now, the shaking intensified. " Stop the vehicle! " Nadech shouted to the driver.

"Sir there seems to be something up ahead, stay inside." The snow mobile slowed down to a stop. The driver went down to go to his other companion in a hurry.

"Ya!"

Everything happened too fast.

There was a big boulder of rock heading speedily towards them coming from the side.

Yaya was pulled out of the vehicle quickly as she looked at the rock getting closer and closer.

They ran quickly, Nadech pulling her along. 

* BOOM *

The sound of the rock hitting the vehicle create an explosion. 

Yaya felt herself being wrapped around his warmth before her consciousness left her.
