Part 25 - Secrets

MIKAH POV

"Eleri what the hell happened?" I asked as She got in the car.

"Nothing." She shrugged but didn't look convincing.

"Doesn't sound like nothing!" I said looking at her seriously "everyone's talking about how you lost your shit and attacked Cat. And to top it off they are saying it's over me"

I looked at Eleri as she avoided making eye contact with me. This wasn't like her, I'm glad she stuck up for herself but this was so out of character for Eleri.

"I did loose my shit but you should have heard what she was saying Mikah!"

"Was it about the kiss?"

"I don't know when I asked her about it Cat said she didn't know what I was talking about but she was saying stuff about me and you."

"Like what?"

"Like how she wondered why you were hanging around with someone so boring and that you'd never go for anyone like me because I'm not pretty enough for you." She said finally stopping to breath and fighting back tears.

"Eleri you know no that's not true right? I'm with you aren't i?"

"I know but what if she's right, what if I'm not right for you."

"Are you forgetting your my mate? Fate has literally told us we're meant to be together."

"Yeah your right, I guess I forget about all of that for a moment."

I reached over and put my hand on her cheek pulling her in to kiss me. I deepened the kiss and I started to lean over the gear stick trying to get closer to her.

Eleri was in the drivers seat now straddling me and she pulled away from the kiss breathlessly.

" I was a good girl before I met you, you know!." She said smirking and winking at Me.

I let out a low growl.

You have no idea.

If I had my way I'd take her right here right now I don't care if we're in a car park. I'd move her to the back seat and rip her clothes off making the car steam up from the heat between us. But I swallow all those thoughts deep down, she needs her first time to be special not in the back of a car but that doesn't mean it won't ever happen. I could never have enough of her.

"We should stop doing this" I said wrapping my hands around her butt pulling her in closer so she was rubbing against my excitement.

"You keep making me not want to stop." I said as i bit my bottom lip. I loved teasing her and watching her crave me.

She moaned at the thought. I wondered if this was all moving to fast between us but it felt so right. She'd told me that she wanted to loose her virginity to me soon but the timing just hasn't been right yet. I want it to be perfect.

ELERI POV

Mikah dropped me off at home and was still completely raging about what Cat had said to me but Mikah had made me totally think about something else and maybe I was confusing the rage with raging hormones.

I don't what made me attack Cat like that, normally I'll just grin and bare it but something came over me and I couldn't fight it anymore. I was so stick of her shit, how can friends be like that. From day one she's never been my friend and if she did have feeling for me she had a pretty funny way of showing it. I'd had enough. I don't need her in my life and now that people know me and Mikah are friend I can eat lunch with him, Matt and who ever else. I don't need her.

I went into dads office searching for my bow and arrows after the night with the rogues it brought back memories of how much I loved archery and competing, I also thought it might help get rid of some of my anger and it's always good to practice to defend myself.

looking around I spotted the cupboard that we tend to store stuff in. I was bound to be in there. As I looked around moving stuff a box fell off a stack of boxes and went into the wall. I picked it up and noticed the wooden slat on the wall had come loose.

There's something behind it?

I took the slat out and noticed there was another small room behind it so I removed another slat.

What's the hell is all of this?

The little room was full of weapons like a crossbows, swords, stakes and daggers. As well as leather coats, holsters, little leg holsters for knives and sheaths.

I looked around for room taking in everything around me, I looked closer at the arrows and noticed the tips were sliver and so were the daggers. Mikah had told me that not a lot could hurt wolves but sliver was deadly and poisonous.

What on earth is all of this and where did it come from? Surly mum and dad are hiding this from me as it tucked away behind a wall but how long has it been here. I don't understand.

"Eleri?" Dad asked walking into the cupboard and saw me looking at everything.

"Dad what is all of this stuff?"

"We wanted to tell you everything on your 19th birthday but I guess you couldn't wait just one more day. I guess this is as good a time as ever." Dad said.

"Lydia can you come down here please. It's time!"

"Mum what's going on?" I said looking at her as she appears in the doorway.

"Maybe you should come sit down Eleri." Mum said in a sweet soft voice. "We have a lot to talk about."

"No! I don't want to sit what the hell is this. Clearly your hiding something but why."

"Our family name has been around for a very long time."

"Winter?"

"Yes" dad said. "The Winter name has been around for decades."

"What does that have to do with anything."

"We're in the history books as being some of the most powerful people."

"Dad your making no sense!"

"Have you been feeling different? Stronger?"

I had but how did he know that and how did this have anything to do with all these weapons. Dad was making no sense and confusing me all the more.

"Have you had pain on your side? That's all happening because I'm dying Eleri."

"What?!"

"Your taking on my power. As my power fades you gain it. Ill die and you'll take over. We always knew that one day you would have to carry on the legacy.

I can't believe it! Dads dying and he being so calm about it, like he knew it was going to happen and what does he mean by his power and carry on the legacy. My head was spinning trying to make sense of everything my dad was telling me I couldn't understand how any of this related.

"What legacy?."

"The legacy of the hunters."

What the hell is he talking about hunters?

"What like animal hunters?"

"Supernatural hunters."

Supernatural hunters? I'd always heard about them in books and in history but I never thought they were actually real, well I thought the same about werewolves and look where that got me. But my parents being Hunters no way! Was this some kind of joke? I'd just found a room full of weapons, my dads just told me he's dying like this no big deal and now their hunters? I think I might pass out.
