“Oh my Jesus.” I exclaimed, Arthur sat in front of me with a massive grin slapped on his goofy face. How could I have been so oblivious?! Probably because I was planning revenge, as usual.
“Wait, you know him?” Ocean asked, I turned my head to her but kept my eyes fixed on Arthur.
“Oh yes.” Arthur replied, turning his attention to her. Ocean blushed and smiled a little, how dare she?! Wait, what?
“Arthur.” I snapped out of my reverie and said his name, “This is my friend Ocean.” Arthur held a hand out and they shook. Good, wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong impression. But if I was thinking that then, wait, did I like Arthur?
“Gwen?”
“Yes?” Arthur smiled at me and I looked away, how the hell could someone be so, so, charming? With one smile?! And his cheekbones were so sharp, oh my god. I do like him! Wait, stop it, shut up. “So what’re you doing here?” I distracted myself by talking.
“About to learn science?” Arthur replied,
“That’s likely.” Ocean joked, loving the sarcasm. Arthur frowned. I continued, completely ignoring her comment.
“I meant, what’re you doing in my school?”
“Oh, right, well. Long story short. My parents decided that the school I was attending was shit,” uses fancy words, I could really get to know this guy, “And so, seeing as how Devon had a lot of good schools they decided this was a good choice, plus my grandparents live down here, my gran has dementia and my mum decided she could take care of her, so here we are.” Seems a bit like why I came down here, leaving out the grandparents and diseases. “Plus, we saw a musical down here by this school, The Addams Family, and my parents thought that it’d be good for me to do that kind of stuff.”
Wait, he saw Addams Family?! I blushed again and smiled to myself. “What?” he asked, curiously.
“Nothing, it’s just, I was in that.”
“Really?! Who were you?!”
“I was one of the bridesmaids, and a star.”
“Oh my god, seriously?”
“Yeah, I played the star that was at the front when we first ran down the stairs, on the right.”
“Oh my god, that’s so cool. You were a really cute star.” I blushed at his compliment and heard Ocean huff.
“What’s your problem?” I whispered to her once Arthur had turned around.
“Flirting much.” She teased, if my blush had gone then now it had surely come back.

I stuck my fork into the pasta pot and split a bit in half, “If you poke that pasta anymore it’s going to become rice.” The pot tipped over as I jumped at the voice.
“Miss Walter, I, I.” I couldn’t find the right words to say, I started picking up the bits of pasta and dumped them back in the pot.
“It’s alright darlin’, I was just saying that whoever wants to do the drama can go into Mr Birds room and come up with something, are you alright?” Miss looked at my expression as I sighed,
“I suppose.”
“Guy trouble?”
“Kinda.”
“Don’t worry about it, who needs them anyway?”
I laughed unconvinced, “Yeah.” I followed the others into my English teachers room, sat in a chair and sighed as I put my head on my hands.
