12 - Fury Embodied

"And in fourth place team Midoriya!"

You clutched your head and blinked a couple of times. You were still trying to figure out what had just happened. One minute you were going to pick a team for the Calvary battle, the next it was already over and you had come in third place on a team with Shinso.

...Shinso. Of course. He had a psychological quirk! He had used his quirk on you, as the realisation hit you, you grew angry. You stomped up to him with fire in your eyes and agitation in your gut.

"Oh (Y:N), uh sorry, I hope you underst-" he didn't get to finish his apology before you slapped him square on the cheek. You could only imagine how furious you would be if you had lost. In your mind he had just taken advantage of you, you hated not being in control of yourself, it reminded you of how your parents used to run your life and micromanage everything you did.

Before he got to say sorry again you sped off to listen to Midnight without looking back at him. Everyone gave you plenty of space sensing the murderous vibe you were giving off. Todoroki was staring at you in confusion having watched the entire ordeal. He'd only seen you this pissed off when you got into that fight with Bakugo a week or so ago, for some reason he found seeing you angry unpleasant.

The next round turned out to be a battle tournament which was just what you needed at that moment, the idea of getting to take out your frustration on your peers was just too sweet. Though before that you had an hour's break.

Midnight was about to announce the line up for the tournament when Ojiro stuck his hand up and revealed that he was pulling out of the competition because of his pride or something. Honestly the whole time he was talking you were just wondering why he'd pass up this opportunity and judging by everyone else's reactions they were too. You then started to grumble to yourself about your teammates for the previous round when the other one decided to do the same, 'Idiots.'

"Such youthful determination! I'll allow it." Midnight squealed pointing her whip(?) at them before turning it to you. "(L:N), do you wish to do the same?" She offered, awaiting your response.

"Nah, I'm fine with moving onto the tournament." You replied, your tone was chill and bored. To be honest you just wanted to get some food in your belly already. It ended up that two members from team Tetsutetsu were to be their replacement and you were finally allowed to lunch.

"(Y:N)!" You heard Ashido call your name before you managed to get away from the crowd. You cursed under your breath and turned to face her. "All of us girls were going to get lunch together, do you want to come?"

You were about to decline when you remembered how Aizawa has been nagging you to actually engage with your classmates, especially since the whole Bakugo incident. 'Damn you Aizawa.' You put on your best bored expression to mask your pain and accepted her offer and followed her to the arena cafeteria. However, as you made your way across the field you caught a glimpse of a nervous Midoriya following a tense Todoroki, 'Weird..'

"And then I was all like 'no you shove off' and he ran away!" Ashido had just finished her fourth story of the hour. You had no clue how the girls were still paying attention to what she said anymore, you had chosen to stare at your hands for the past ten minutes instead. Luckily for Mineta you didn't notice when he and Kaminari came up to the table and spouted some nonsense about cheerleading uniforms.

"(Y:N)?... (Y:N)!" You turned to see Yaoyorozu bent down to you level with an urgent expression resting on her face.

"Huh? What?" You were a bit irritated as she had just interrupted your daydream of getting to push your foot against Bakugo's face when you finally get to fight him today.
