The start signal rang through the stadium and the both of you charged forward. You formed plates of Anoddium on your knuckles, arms and shins as armour, sort of like Kirishima's hardening. He thrusted his right fist towards you, an explosion deploying from it, which you blocked with your left forearm before ducking and punching him in the stomach.

However, he blocked with his left hand and twisted your arm round to put you in a hold but you just continued to turn, breaking your arm in the process, and kicked his side making him release your hand. He watched in disgust as your arm snapped back into place with a loud crack, you face only just about showing the immense pain you were feeling.

You gave him no time to think as you stepped forward aiming your fist at his face which he swiftly blocked along with your follow up punch before blowing you backwards and away from him, allowing him to surge towards you. You ran towards him too creating a platform that stuck out of the floor to the side between you. You used this platform to jump up and off of as you wrapped your legs around his neck and used your body weight to swing him down onto the ground. You rolled and stood up going to straddle him only to receive an explosion directed towards your face, which you blocked with yours arms the force of it sending you back a couple of feet.

He caught you by surprise by tackling you from the side, taking advantage of the smoke screen. You slammed against the concrete and felt his fist make contact with your cheek. Your vision blurred before clearing up completely as you shot out an Anoddium chunk out of your hand at his face. He rolled off of you to dodge it, but you sent more his way one after the other, all expertly aimed.

It took all of his concentration to dodge all of your speedy projectiles. He sent a big explosion your way, not as big as he can make but it was quite sizeable. You brought up a thick shield of diamond in front of you to stop yourself from being blown away. You coughed as you ran to the side deciding to use his tactic from earlier and attack him from the side. You flipped bringing your foot into the air aimed at his head but due to his insane reflexes he managed to dodge, just about.

You clenched your jaw getting fed up. You decided to bring up spikes of diamond from the floor, he narrowly avoided them but you kept them coming incessantly. He let out a loud a battle cry as he braved himself for the recoil of the large explosion he set off. It was the same size as the one he used to obliterate Uraraka's falling debris. You were sent flying back, the heat burning your skin but you paid that no mind, your body on autopilot now.

You deployed your wings and struck them into the ground in front of you, stopping you from soaring out of bounds and blocking the rest of the explosion. You were close to the line now and Bakugo knew it, if he could just drive you back a bit. He began running towards you but stopped when he saw your face.

Your face was pale, eyes wide, eyebrows high and mouth agape. You just ripped your wings out of the concrete and stared at them. It had been years since you had seen them, they were much bigger now and the crystalline material glistened under the sun. All you could focus on was the blood dripping from the tips of them. They were covered in the thick crimson liquid, it was those men's and you knew it.

Of course if you asked anyone else, there was nothing on your wings, you were hallucinating the whole thing. That didn't make it any less horrifying to you though. You started to tremble violently and your eyes brimmed with tears. You gasped suddenly feeling as if you couldn't breathe, you looked down at your hands to see them also drenched in the liquid of life. You let out a shrill shriek of terror and tried to back away from your wings hurriedly and clumsily which caused you trip over your own feet.

You just kept clawing away from the tips on your hands not noticing that you had gone out of bounds as you curled in on yourself as you sobbed and screamed. Bakugo watched on in horror as you cried hysterically clutching your hair until your knuckles turned white with your eyes screwed shut. Cementoss hurried to your side, grabbed your shoulders and tried to calm you down only to be whacked away by your right wing. You didn't even mean to, your body reacted on it's own. Nothing was even registering to you as your mind replayed that night over and over.

Midnight took things into her own hands and released her quirk, purple gas quickly blanketing over you and sending you to sleep. Your body finally stilled, Bakugo couldn't seem to forget the sight of tremors raking though your body and your frightened face. He had never seen you like that before and as he watched your form be carried off and heard Midnight announce his victory, he just wondered what could make you look so scared.

"Dabi, come on! Give me one good reason as to why we can't get a cat." You begged, hands clasped together as you gave him the biggest puppy eyes that you could.

"I don't get why we need one, all it does is create more work." He replied in a bored tone without looking up from his phone.

"It's not about needing one, it's about wanting one and I promise I'll take care of it! You won't have to lift a finger." You whined and started to cling to his arm. You jostled the limb about letting out a long and high pitched plea.

"Fine!... fine just, as long as you promise to take care of it, not me." At this you let out a delighted squeal and stuck your pinky finger out towards him.

"Promise." You said urging him to partake in the sacred pinky promise. He huffed a breathy laugh at your childish actions before wrapping his pinky around yours. He watched as you then ranted about how you'd have to get a cat that was hypoallergenic because of your allergy to fur. It amazed him that you still wanted a feline friend despite being allergic to the thing it was covered in.

"Alright just go do something where your not bothering me and I'll see what I can do." He said shoving you away by placing his hand against your forehead and pushing. You playfully hit his arm for that before slipping away towards your room.

Your eyes fluttered open, only to close again when they were met with the harsh fluorescent lights. You groaned and sat up, you took in your surroundings and realised that you were on a bed in the infirmary. 'Ugh, I lost and all because I freaked out over my wings.' You shook your head to clear your mind of the embarrassing and slightly scarring memory.

"Ah, your up! And in time for the awards ceremony no less." You looked to your right to see a small old woman with grey hair, goggles and a syringe walking stick in a lab coat; Recovery Girl. You swivelled so that your legs hung over the side and planted your feet on the ground. You got up effortlessly and began walking towards the exit. "Hey wait, I need to perform a check up!" You heard her call from behind you.

"No need, now if you excuse I have a crappy bronze medal to receive." You flicked your hand over your shoulder lazily. You were still in your gym clothes that were singed around the edges thanks to Bakugo's quirk. 'Aw man, the bet!'

You were led underground by Ectoplasm to the podium that was going to rise up and out of the ground. You saw Todoroki standing in the second place spot so you assumed he had lost to Bakugo. Speaking of Bakugo, where was he? Surely he'd be sitting proudly on that top spot gloating at you and the peppermint haired boy. As you avoided Todoroki's quizzical gaze, 'he obviously saw my little freak out', Bakugo was wheeled in chained to a block of concrete and muzzled.

"Ha!" You cackled at the sight of him causing him to snap his glare at you and start shouting what you were sure a variety of profanities at you. "What's wrong, short fuse? Cat got your tongue?" You were glad he had appeared like this because it distracted you from the myriad of hurtful thoughts and memories floating around your mind.

He growled at you as they set him next to you on the podium, "Congrats on the win, Hannibal Lecter." You taunted, referring to the way he was muzzled like the famous character created by Thomas Harris. He began to tug more violently at his restraints as the podium started to rise. You were met with harsh sunlight and brought your hand up to shield your eyes. You were ashamed to be standing on the podium in the spot for third place, it was pitiful.

Your heated thoughts swirled around your head as you tuned out everything. You were caught off guard by All Might standing before you, you flinched minutely and gazed up at the humongous man. "That was a great way to reintroduce yourself to the world, young (L:N)!" He said and placed the bronze medal around your neck.

You stood stock still as he lent down and wrapped his arms around you lightly, you were this close to pushing him away when he whispered in your ear. "I hope that eventually you are able to tackle the demons of your past and bloom into a fine young hero." And though you'd deny it with every ounce of your being, the small child that you had buried deep in your heart agreed.
