"Hm... ughhh." Your eyes fluttered open groggily as you groaned at your splitting headache. You brought your hands up to your head to rub your temples as you sat up. 'What on earth...' You heard a cough from beside you and came face to face with a concerned looking Shoto. You quickly remembered what happened and cursed at yourself. How could you freak out over something so little? It was just a new part of your quirk is all.

"Are you alright (Y:N)?" He was sat on the edge of your bed and was gazing deep into your eyes. You huffed out a frustrated breath before flopping back down onto your soft bed.

"Yeah, sorry about what happened in class. I overreacted." You scooted over and patted the space next to you. The peppermint haired boy took this as his cue to lay down next to you. He settled down quickly and budged up slightly closer to you before grabbing your hand gently.

"No need to apologise. I'm sure that it must have been alarming for you. I'm just thankful you're ok." You smiled at his soft words and at how his thumb rubbed small circles on the back of your hand. You closed your eyes and just basked in the other's company before he spoke again. "You know... I felt so guilty when you were taken. I am so sorry that I wasn't able to protect you, I don't know what I would have done if we didn't get you back."

You opened your eyes at the boy's sudden confession. The stare you were met with was filled with honesty and vulnerability. He must've been feeling responsible for not being there for you this entire time. You sighed and intertwined your hand with his in a comforting gesture. You knew how it felt to be unable to protect someone, no matter how much you wanted to. Your mind wandered to Eri, you missed her. You missed how she would talk to you for hours on end about her toys, how she would drag you to play with her - not that you needed much convincing. All you wanted was to see her smile, she didn't deserve what was happening to her. "It's not your fault okay? I shouldn't have been napping in the middle of the woods."

He chuckled at your words, you always managed to make him feel better. He snaked his arm around your waist and pulled you into his chest. You tensed at the sudden gesture of affection before relaxing into his hold. You encased him in your arms and started to play with hair. It was outstandingly soft and he hummed in contentment at the work of your fingers. You could hear Merlin jump up onto the bed but you paid the animal no mind, too focused on the rhythmic rise and fall of Shoto's chest. You could hear his heartbeat and focused in on it, the steady yet unusually quick beat sending you to sleep once again. That night, for the first time in a while, you slept peacefully and dreamt a mostly happy dream. The trials of the present seemingly fading out of your mind.

"Sing for me pleaseeeee~!" You stared down at the tiny, horned girl in front of you. She had her hands clasped together and was giving you the most adorable set of puppy dog eyes ever. She held your gaze for as long as you looked at her, not backing down for an instant. You huffed out a small chuckle and picked her up. She giggled as you held her high and spun around. Her laugh was the cutest thing you had ever heard and it made you so happy to see her so gleeful. You placed her down on her bed and sat in front of her. She waited patiently for you to start, snuggling into the teddy bear she had grabbed from beside her.

🎶"Why do birds suddenly appear,
Every time you are near,
Just like me they long to be,
Close to you"🎶

She just peered up at you with her sparkling eyes as you serenaded her. You always got so lost in your own world whenever you sang and she wanted to share in that experience. She hummed along with you as the English lyrics were hard for her to pronounce. You remembered the first time you sang for her. It was during a powerful storm that had hit the area. She had gotten so frightened by the bangs and the crashes. You had sat with her under her duvet and stroked her hair. You would do anything for her, she was the only innocent person you knew.

She crawled onto your lap and started to sway with you. Her little baby hands gripped yours as she brought them up to wave in time with the song. You were so pleased when she turned out to love that song as much as you. In your eyes the song didn't have to be sung to your lover, but to someone who meant the world to you. These were the moments you lived for; the times where you could make someone feel safe and loved.

Your little moment was brought to an abrupt end by three pounds on the door. You carefully moved Eri from your lap and shuffled your way to it. You opened it with a creak, only to be met with a frustrated Chisaki glaring down at you. You gulped and stepped outside the room, closing the door behind you. You felt disgust boil in your gut just due to looking at the man in front of you. Luckily from years of practise you managed to not let that show. You knew he was here for Eri. He came at the same time everyday like clockwork but you've stood by and let that happen for too long.

"Move." He watched as you placed your hands on your hips in front of him. He didn't like you, never had. All because you had replaced him as the boss' favourite. The old man had started to deny his requests more frequently once you had turned up and it made his skin crawl with distaste. The old boss had no vision in his opinion.

"No, you can at least give her a day off from whatever you do to her." You stepped closer and steeled your glare at the masked man. You knew that if it came down to a physical encounter you'd probably have to back down but if there was one thing you could do it was feign confidence.

"You are in no position to order me around. Now move." He should've realised by now that you're main motto is 'fuck what others tell me to do'. You clenched you're jaw, getting annoyed with his persistence. He was in a similar state of annoyance at your stubbornness.

"Listen, you hurt her today and eventually I'll make you regret it. I don't know what you do to her but I'm not going to sit around and watch it happen anymore. Now, fuck. Off." You pressed your index finger into his chest pushed him. Hard. You jumped out the way as he tried to place his, now ungloved, hand on your shoulder. Now, instead of you being between him and Eri, he was between you and her. You clenched your fists and dodged as he dove at you again. You assessed the situation and made a promise to yourself before turning around and running. You promised that you'd come back for her, with enough force to take her away from him and all the harm he causes.

"I know we're not supposed to discuss the traitor theory but... wouldn't it be (Y:N)?" The blond male muttered to the raggedy man beside him in the teachers' lounge. Tired red eyes met his. The faculty were aware that there must be a traitor in their midst but to put on a united front they weren't supposed to think about it. "I mean come on, you give her a phone and the very next day Shigaraki turns up at the mall the same time and day as the class. Then, Bakugo gets kidnapped from a location that was kept on the down low. Also, we already know she has ties to the League. Who else could it be?"

Present Mic did make some valid points and if Aizawa were being honest the theory had passed through his mind several times. As much as it made sense, he didn't want to believe it. Over the short time you've known each other you've managed to wedge your way into his heart without even trying. The thought of you betraying not just the school but his trust worried him, astronomically. "I know but..."

"You've gotten attached?" The blond looked at the raven haired man knowingly.

"Yeah."
