26 - Can't Swim

You sang enthusiastically along with the Bad Suns song as you tied your hair up in a bun on your head. It was quite difficult given the amount of hair you had and the fact that your shoulders couldn't stop grooving to the beat of the song. Today was the day that all the girls had arranged to go to the school pool, you were kind of nervous to go because you couldn't swim. You've never needed to and your family never took you so you'd just never learnt. It was really embarrassing but you thought it could be fun to hang out at the pool so you had accepted the invitation.

As you pulled up to the school and hopped out of the car you spotted Todoroki up ahead of you. You sprinted to catch up to him and punched him lightly on the arm as a greeting. He nodded down at you while smiling and you both made your way to the changing rooms. You liked how with Todoroki, words weren't always needed, you could just walk and bask in the other's company. The girls greeted you when you entered the room and you began to change.

"Did you guys invite the boys?" You asked while sliding off your oversized black top. You looked over at the rest of them and they shook their head, luckily Yaoyorozu decided to explain the boys' presence.

"They've arranged to come here for endurance training." You chuckled and shook your head at that, some of those boys just don't understand what it means to rest. You slipped on the one piece swimsuit, you had to do the weird hip wiggle to get it over your butt. You usually avoided clothing with this type of neckline because it accentuated your slightly broad shoulders. Although, you were thankful for your kind of wide shoulders because they helped balance out the bottom half of your body.

You all headed out to the side of the pool and you followed along as they stretched, you didn't realise you had to stretch before swimming. As you raised your left arm over your head and leaned over to the right, you let your eyes wander over all of the boys. Mineta was staring at all of you with that disgusting perverted look in his eyes which made you pull a displeased face. Practically all of them were here except Kirishima and Bakugo, the redhead was probably trying to drag the explosive boy here.

The girls decided on playing volleyball in the water, you quickly called umpire and sat on the side of the pool, your feet swishing back and forth in the clear water. The game began and the air was quickly filled with squeals of joy and shouts of 'eat this!'s from Mina. You kept track of the points and to no one's surprise Tsu's team consisting of her, Yaoyorozu and Uraraka was winning. As they took the set Hagakure started to whine about losing, you let out a laugh simply stating that that's just how it was.

"Refreshments girls?" You turned your head to Iida as he opened a cooler filled with beverages and immediately got up to run to him. You were absolutely parched, you gulped down the drink within seconds, Kirishima who had finally arrived along with Bakugo, called your chugging skills manly and you laughed about it with him. You were actually socialising normally when you felt to hands plant against your back and push you into the water.

You yelped and fell in. You attempted to claw your way to the surface but you couldn't and since you were in the deep end you couldn't just stand up. Panic started to grip you as you tried to call out for help but all that came out was a muffled gargle and water flooded into your mouth. The class watched and waited for you to resurface but grew anxious as you didn't. Your rash movements made the water ripple violently which blurred your thrashing figure. Iida finally realised something was wrong when some air bubbles broke the surface and jumped in to rescue you.

You felt a big, muscular arm wrap around your waist and lift you to the surface. Sato and Shoji grabbed you out of the water and hauled you onto the side. You began to hack up all of the water that had to made its way into your lungs as Kaminari who watched on in horror started apologising profusely. Todoroki kneeled down next to you and rubbed your back soothingly, you gasped and tried to regain a normal breathing pattern. Your throat burned and your eyes stung. It was horrible but you had been through worse so you refocused your attention onto Kaminari, who had stopped apologising and looked in a different direction in horror.

While you had been emptying your lungs of water, the electric boy had heard the distinct crackling of small explosions erupting from the palms of Bakugo. The ash blond boy was now stalking towards Kaminari with a complete look of fury on his face. He was about to grab the frightened boy when you came out of nowhere and tackled Kaminari into the water with a war cry. You grasped onto his shoulders and pushed yourself above the surface. He gasped and spluttered once he too resurfaced, you wrapped your legs around him to keep yourself above the water as you yelled "That's what you get!" In his face with a massive grin spread across your lips.

He broke out laughing with you and encased you in his arms out of relief that you weren't mad at him. Someone was though, Bakugo was still enraged and the sight of you in Kaminari's arms was not helping. He felt a strong urge to rip you out of the lightning bolt boy's grip and into his own chest. You reached for the edge of the pool and pushed yourself to sit on the side again.

"Man, I should really learn to swim." You grinned up at the explosive boy. As he looked down at you the murder in his eyes softened slightly to arson. You swivelled on your butt to face him fully, raised your hands and made grabby hands at him as a signal for him to pull you up. He clicked his tongue before gripping your hands and pulling you up towards him with a lot of force. You were sent tumbling into his chiselled chest, his hands came to rest on your hips as you tilted your face up to his. He was so close to you, you watched as a drop of water dripped from off his still somehow spiky hair and rolled down the side of his face. You ran your hands up to lay flat against the front of his chest. He looked surprised at your actions before smirking down at you slightly. That expression was quickly wiped off however, when you pushed him backwards into the water.

"(Y:N)! I WILL KILL YOU!" Your heart fluttered slightly at the fact that he finally called you by your first name. You smiled mischievously at him, taking a few steps backwards before running full pelt to the edge of the pool and jumping.

"CATCH ME SHORT FUSE!" You yelled and dropped into the clear liquid. You and the rest of the class laughed as they joined you in the water. Sure enough, the angry boy's arm snaked it's way around your waist to keep you from drowning. The rest of the day was filled with laughs, competitions and just pure unadulterated fun.

"Are you sure you should go after the girl just because of some grudge?" Dabi asked the blue haired man in front of him. He was currently stood behind him in a poorly lit bar that was the base of operations for the League of Villains. He didn't like Shigaraki very much, he was clearly a selfish man-child but he respected what Stain stood for so he joined the league.

"It's not just some grudge." The hand clad male hissed at the other. "It was her statement to the police that led to the arrest of one of our contacts, Nakamura. He and Giran were our networking, his arrest cost us greatly and she is going to pay for it. Slowly and painfully." The raven haired male sighed at his words. He didn't want to let them know that you two knew each other because he wanted to be a member. He also couldn't do anything to go against Shigaraki but he didn't want any harm to come to you. All he could was hope and pray that you managed to escape when they came for you.

"Whatever." He shrugged and exited the room. He hoped you were safe at that school, that you were happy. You were the only person he liked and the only person he could actually trust.
