"Wait. I get to go do an internship?" You peered up at Aizawa incredulously, you thought that they wouldn't allow you to partake in one because of the chance that you might run away or something. He just returned your stare tiredly and handed you your list of offers before moving back to the front of the class to take a nap. 'He's as chatty as usual.'
You looked over the list he gave you with a bored expression, having to go work at a hero agency for a week did not sound like a fun pastime. Your eyes quickly found a name that made your lips curl downwards in displeasure. Endeavor. You immediately flipped the page over not even considering it. Although going there just to rebel against him and piss him off did sound quite entertaining.
You continued skimming and scanning as Yaoyorozu turned to face you in her chair. "You must be proud of yourself (Y:N) for getting so many offers!" She gushed with her hand placed on her chest. You just gave her an expression that just read as 'really?'
"It doesn't matter to me, it's not like I plan on being a hero." You stated harshly glaring at the piece of paper, although out of the corner of your eye you could see that she was shaken by your response. You gripped your hands in a fist, calming your temper as you sighed. "Sorry... Yaoyorozu, my patience is just wearing a bit thin with all of this hero talk."
Her eyes widened at your words, you had never apologised to anyone in the class before. She felt almost prideful at the fact that she was the first person that you've said sorry to. She quickly dismissed your apology stating that it was fine and turned around ready for the next class.

The bell for the end of fourth period rang so you got up and pushed your hips forward to stretch out your back. You pouted slightly when it didn't give out a satisfying click before bending over and packing your stuff away. You heard someone clear their throat next to you to get your attention. You turned your gaze to them to find the handsome peppermint haired boy beside you.
"(Y:N), I was wondering if you'd want to get lunch with me today?" You scrunched your eyebrows and wondered what he meant by that. At your evident confusion he explained himself further, "just us I mean, I'd like to have a conversation with you."
Your eyebrows raised at this, you didn't know Todoroki to be so bold so this surprised you but you shrugged it off. You reached down to grab your bag and started to walk to the door. When you saw that he wasn't following you peered over your shoulder at him and nodded your head at the door, a signal of your acceptance. If you had waited a second before turning your head back to the direction you were headed, you would have seen the small smile that settled on Todoroki's lips which he shook away before following you out the door.
You both were silent until you sat down at a small table in the cafeteria, facing each other. It was a comfortable silence though, the type that you hadn't been able to indulge in for weeks. As you both dug into your food, which was extremely tasty thanks to Lunch Rush, he peeped up at you and decided to say something. "So who are you planning to intern with?"
You mulled the question over in your mind, in truth you hadn't made your mind up on that yet, the list of offers was just too long. "I don't know yet, I'll have to research the agencies first I guess, you?" You inspected his face as his jaw clamped together for a second.
"I've chosen to intern with my old man." You snorted at that, thinking that he was joking but when you saw his ever serious expression you remembered that he didn't have that sort of sense of humour.
"Wait really?" His eyes narrowed at your disbelief. Most of the class had congratulated him when he told them but you looked like you thought it was the most ridiculous idea ever.
"Yes, why would I lie?" You shook your head at your slip up, he wasn't supposed to know that you knew that Endeavor wasn't exactly an exemplary father.
"Oh well from my conversation with him yesterday, I didn't think that you guys were on the best of terms." You gulped down your water, cursing at yourself for making such a simple mistake. 'You're as daft as they come, (Y:N)' you internally scolded yourself.
"Ah. Well, I figured that even if I don't like him, he's still the number two hero and that I can learn from him." There was a slight pause in the conversation as you just nodded and shovelled more food into your gob. "What were your parents like (Y:N), if you don't mind me asking?"
You choked ungracefully on your food at the sudden question, to which he responded by passing his cup of water to you since you had already drunk all of yours. You chugged down the water before wiping your mouth with your hand. You could feel how hot your face was from choking and quietly thanked him.
"Uh, they were like everyone else's parents," lie, "they were hard on me when I stepped out of line but I guess that that was my fault for stepping out of line." True. Your parents tended to go with physical punishments but sometimes they would spice things up. He nodded at your words your words.
"They were heroes right?" You almost thought it adorable how oblivious he was, but you couldn't blame him because you were getting better at schooling your reactions to whenever someone mentions them.
You chuckled darkly, "Yup." You said popping the 'p' "They were." You were about to change the subject when he continued down a conversation path you'd rather not get into.
"May I ask why you reacted how you did in your fight against Bakugo?" Your breath stilled at his words, cringing as the memory flashed through your mind. 'I do not need this today.'
"No you may not, I'd rather discuss something else." He seemed to finally catch on to your discomfort towards this subject and remorse shined through his eyes. You hated when people looked at you like that, so you took the attention off of yourself. "Uh, you like cats Todoroki?"
"Shoto." You blinked at his response. You were pretty sure that that had nothing to do with furry felines.
"Huh?" You cocked your head to the side.
"Since I call you (Y:N), you can call me Shoto." You nodded your head slowly, considering his offer. You didn't want to get too familiar with anyone in the class but for some reason, when you looked into his turquoise eye, you couldn't deny him. He reminded you of your home.
"Ok... Shoto."
