No One Comes Close To You

Chapter IV

Everyone is already in the hall. They are wearing their vest formal attire or corporate suits.  I just arrived. I am wearing my knee level white dress. It is simple but I do look elegant. Since it is sleeveless dress, I put on a peach coat. I let my hair hang on my shoulder and a gold hairclip on the left side of my head to prevent the hair covering my face. I put colors on my face too. It's not too much because I don't like it in the first place.
The host is one of our students. He is from Thailand. He's on his third month of studying English. He's under my care.
We sat down on the chairs provided for us. The teachers were sitting at the other side of the hole and the family members on the left and back side of the hall. We are facing on the students and the guests.
Harry is not here yet.
"Finn,can we start?"
"Sure."
Lee made a signal to our host.
He is then started his introduction.
"This ceremony is graced by our dynamic and supportive management spearheaded by our General Manager Ms. Finn Montenegro, Head Administration Officer Ms. Jonah Fernan and our IT and Marketing Head Ms. Lee Sang. With our respected investors Mr. Hiro Suzuki, Japan. Mr. Won Kyung Do,Seoul South Korea. And Ms. Wang Shin Yeh in Taiwan.
To all of you,a pleasant good afternoon.
Welcome to our Quarter Ceremony.
To officially start,may I request everyone to stand for the national anthem."

We rose on our seats. We sang the three national anthem. It was really solemn and good melody.
"He's here." Jonah said to me. I followed the direction she was looking at. I saw Grayson who is standing at the back part of the audience. As if he was running a mile because I can see he was breathing heavily. I smiled.
"Someone is happy." Lee said but never looked at us. I seated in between them. They are really my friend. They know how to pissed me off.
We sat down again when the songs were done.
Grayson was assisted by our usherette. He sat down next to Jonah.
"I'm sorry I was late." He said to her.
"Never mind."
The host called us.
"To hand in the certificates,may I request our General Manager,Miss Finn Montenegro to be assisted by our respected investors."
I stood and walked to the queue.
Lee helped one of our teachers to give the certificate.
Almost one minute,we finished giving all those documents.
When I went back to my seat, I saw Grayson in my peripheral vision looking at me.
"And now,we would like to hear some heartwarming messages from our attendees. May we call on Hannah Young."
Hannah Young is from Taiwan. She studied English in our school. She was under my care.

"English is considered as my weapon to fight back the struggles I have in life. With this,I can confidently bring out the best in me.
To all the teachers who imparted their greatest ability to help me, my utmost thanks to you. With out you,I can never stand in front of you.
To my family who always stay by my side through thick and thin, I love you.
And to Three Star Language School,will always be my second home. Because you,I find my happiness and myself.
Thank you so much. "

I almost cried hearing that one. She was not that good when she came here. But with her determination, she did it!
"Next,let us listen to Sara Suzuki."
She is Japanese. She studied English too. She's high school student.

"Japan is my birthplace. I was raised in that country with humility and respect. The cultures that embedded in my system is fully Japanese. But with English as a medium of instructions, I was able to communicate with my classmates throughout my stay here in Three Star Language School. Talking with you is my precious memory I could bring to Japan. I was able to learn new things and embrace foreign cultures.
I will always be a good person and use the knowledge I have learned here in good way.
To all my friends here,my kind and friendly teachers,my parents who really come here and celebrate this special day of mine with me and to Miss Finn who let me memorize 500 vocabulary words and make essay using those words for a week..thank you so much. Without you,my life would not be as wonderful as it is now. I am happy and glad to be born in this world. Thank you so much!!"
