No One Comes Close To You

Chapter I

Finn's POV

One year ago.....

I was sitting on my swivel chair. I was checking on the papers on my table. This is my daily routine. Going to the office, signing some documents and talking to clients are my common tasks.
I am Finn Montenegro, co-owner of Three Star Language school. My friend Lee and Jonah helped me running the business for five years already. We accept students who wants to study Korean,Japanese and English. If Japanese or Koreans put up a school in the Philippines for their fellow citizen to learn English,in our school,Filipino can avail this kind of learning.
Many people want to learn English for many purposes. For job, traveling and to name a few.
I was inspired to build this company because many Filipino people would like to work in foreign countries and they want to speak English fluently or in other countries.
We only have fifty teachers in school. They study Japanese and Korean language from us. Lee is a certificate holder for Korean Language Teaching while  I had both. I acquired TOEIC and TEFL certificate. Because we don't cater only to Filipinos but also other Asian students who would like to study English. We already have Taiwanese and Thai students.
The company is moving upward fortunately. We were very happy to see the progress of our business. Jonah is really good at philosophical aspects of the school. She is in administration department and teach English to Filipino students sometimes.
Our team is a perfect combination. They said we are lucky.

"Why are you still here?" Lee came in to my office. She's wearing her beautiful burgundy wavy hair. She's like a kpop star.
I smiled at her.
"I don't have anything at home. I'll stay a bit. Probably I'll finish this one. It's been piling up."
"Do you remember Cherry?" She asked me after she sat down on the chair in front of me.
"Why?"
"She's getting married. Do you want to come?"
"I might not come. We are busy here. "
"It's okay."
"Nope,I can't leave this building."
"Fine. There's nothing new about this. You always say no to all our invitations."
I laughed at her without looking at my friend. It's true. Among the three,I am the workaholic one. I can stay in the building for a week.
"You are thirty years old."
"I know."
"You're not getting any younger."
"Yeah I know. I've been waiting but no one comes. It's that my fault.?"
She laughed.
"No one knows because you are staying here."
"I might stay alone forever."
"Probably. Well,is that your final answer?"
"Yeah. You go. "
"Okay."
"How is our students from Thailand?"
"Of course they are getting fun. Do you think we can hire more teachers?"
"Maybe next quarter. We can't afford to lose them."
"Yeah I know. We don't know the future."
"We'll be checking here and then. By doing so,we can determine if we have to do that."
She nodded her head.
I stood up and got the folder. She was just observing me.
I was wearing my white long sleeves and was tucked in on my jeans. That's my usual attire.
"Finn,we are planning to go abroad next month. It's winter season in other countries."
"What?"
"Yeah,maybe Prague?"
"Oh,that's great. "
"Do you have plan to go with us?"
"I'm not sure."
"Okay. We'll tell you for further notice. Jonah wants to take a rest from busy days. Me too of course."
I love Prague. That is my favorite city in Europe.
"We will do the things we didn't do before."
"Like what?"
"Going to bar."
"What?"
"Yeah,we'll go there. My husband will go with me I think."
"I would be alone if that's the case."
"No,don't worry you'll still enjoy."
"I know."
I continued my work until 7 in the evening. Then I went home at 7:30.
My mom already prepared my dinner on the table. They were sleeping already. I did my usual before I go to bed.
Tonight,I planned to make a bucket list.
I am not dying. I just want to make a list the things I haven't done before.
I'll keep this until I have done all of this.
I wrote it on my planner which I kept it on my study table.
No one will get inside in here except me.
Then I head to bed.
The moment my back touched the soft mattress I dozed off. I feel tired and everything went black.

The next day, I wake up with more energy than last night. I prepared myself for work. We ate breakfast together with my parents. Since my siblings were already have their own family.
"You're always working Finn,don't you have plan to go on a date?" My father said.
"Nope,dad. I'll stay here."
"You need someone to take care of you when you get old and have children. Your nieces and nephews can't promise if they can help you."
"Mom,I'm still young."
"Young?,you're thirty years old. You have to be worried."
"It's okay. I'm fine."
" Lee told me about your holiday next month. You should go with them. Your school is closed during that holiday."
"Fine I'll go."
"That's good. It's fun."
I got up from my seat and went to work. I was earlier than them. Of course they have their own family to take care.
I prepared the certificates for the students who will graduate on this quarter. Their language studies only takes for four months. Then after we have two-three weeks prelude as our vacation and preparation for the next quarter.
We have one hundred students this quarter. We have fifty Filipino students,thirty Taiwanese, and twenty Japanese students who will end their term.  Three weeks remaining time. We have to prepare a program for them too. They can already speak English well. Our teachers were trained to teach them well. We provide seminars and training for all of them.
"You're early."
"Yeah. I have to prepare this thing."
"Yeah,we have big number of students now."
"Yeah."
"What should we do then?"
"Lee is planning the ceremony."
"Okay."
"Do our investors come on the ceremony?"
"Maybe."
"Mr. Suzuki and Mr. Won will surely be coming here. They like the Philippines."
Mr. Hiro Suzuki who is our Japanese counterpart will always come during the ceremony. While Mr. Won Kyung Do sometimes sent a voice over for the students.
"Are you going to give a speech as the Filipino representative?"
"No. " Jonah said.
"Who?"
"Do you remember our student before? The one who gave you a hard time?"
"Who?"
"What?You really forget him? Grayson Harry Montez?"
"Grayson Harry Montez?"
"Yeah,he's now the new CEO of Healthy United Enterprises in Czech Republic."
"The one who studied Japanese?"
"Yeah,but actually he knew already how to speak Japanese. He has nothing to do at home. So he enrolled in our school."
"Why him?"
"He's successful. He can speak Japanese, Korean, Latin and Spanish."
"Then?"
"Then he is a CEO."
"He's a successor."
"No. He's not. He works as a production worker,then was promoted."
"Fine,he'll come over here?"
"Hmm. I called him. Good thing he said yes."
"Okay."
"It's okay,isn't it?"
"Yeah"
