Chapter 14: Born to be a Superstar

Ella now managed to successfully come up on stage despite the sudden nervousness she is feeling in spite of the surge of confidence she had a while ago. 'Ella really is a handful' I thought to myself. The crowd was now, of course, looking at hear, which I think made her a bit more nervous than she currently was.

"What will you audition for?" asked the secretary.

I saw Ella inhaled and exhaled deeply before answering. "The heroine. A superstar, a megastar; the star in everybody's eyes." she said confidently while doing some sexy but funny poses on stage. The people inside the theater hall were now laughing at Ella's gestures. Kahit nga si Kenneth, Matt, at Austin ay natatawa rin.

"Sigurado ka ba diyan?" magalang na tanong naman ni Kyle habang medyo napapakamot sa ulo nito. Even the other officers weren't sure if Ella was being real or not pero alam naman namin na magkakaibigan that Ella was 'born to be a star'.

"Yes. 100%." sabi niya habang medyo lumaki ang mga mata at iniligay sa magkabilang bewang ang dalawang kamay.

"Sure ka na ba talaga? Pwede ka pa mag-backout." sabi naman nung vice-president ng club habang nakaturo ang kamay sa pinto, sa likod ng theater hall.

"I know intimidated kayo pero sigurado na talaga ako. I will soon be the star of this club." sabi naman ni Ella habang medyo nahihiyang tumatawa na para bang kinikilig. I was really worried for nothing. I thought she was beyond nervous pero ayun pala, kayang-kaya niya na ilaban itong audition niya.

"Sure na ha?" paniniguradong tanong ni Kyle.

"Oo nga kasi!" pasagot na sigaw ni Ella kay Kyle na nagdulot naman ng gulat sa mga officers. Natawa nalang kami dahil parang natakot naman si Kyle kay Ella.

"Kawawa naman si Kyle. Magiging under 'to ni Ella if ever." sabi naman ni Kenneth habang natatawang umiiling-iling. Pinalo naman ni Zcyrel si Kenneth sa balikat dahil sa pangaasar nito sa kaibigan namin.

Kyle fixed how he was seated before continuing to speak. "Well then, show us what you got." sabi nito habang nahihiya at parang natatakot na nakatingin kay Ella.

The hall went silent for a moment, all eyes and ears were on Ella but the girl was just standing in the middle of the stage, eyes closed and her breathing in control.

"Rome-o!" sobrang lakas niyang sigaw na halos magtakip na kami ng tenga. Tumakbo takbo siya na para bang baliw at hinahanap ang dalawang bata.

"Nasaan ka?" dugtong nito at biglang nag-aktong natumba sa gitna at nagsimula na siyang umiyak. Ang pangit niyang umiyak but at least, may mga totoong luha talagang lumalabas.

"Rome-o." bago niya pa man matapos ang sasabihin ay itinaas ng secretary ang kamay niya bilang sign na itigil ni Ella ang kaniyang pagtatanghal.

"Bakit?" nagtatakang tanong ni Ella sa babae.

"It's not Rome-o, okay? It's Romeo." pagko-correct ng secretary sa sinabi ni Ella kanina. I know Ella knows that it should be Romeo instead of Rome-o. What I don't know though is her reason in using the latter instead of the former.

"Rome-o po talaga dapat." sabi naman ni Ella na nakangiti habang hinahaplos-haplos ang buhok nito.

"And why do you think so?" tanong ng secretary while intensely looking at Ella in the eyes. Kung si Kenneth lang ata 'tong nagtanong ay malamang nag-away na agad ang dalawa.

"Well, I'm the one performing and I have the prerogative to use whatever pronunciation I want. And besides, what I did is called creativity." proud na proud na sabi ni Ella. Parang hindi naman ata makapaniwala 'yung secretary sa kaniyang narinig pero pinabayaan niya nalang. I heard Kenneth and Austin laughing at what Ella replied.
