The colossal, towering trees - which were covered in green leaves and dying old vines that danced in the wind - obscured the open skies. The clouds that usually hid the blue beauty were almost nonexistent, only small cotton candy-like ones remained. They were dotted around as though it were in a painting. The sun high in the sky, it was noon. Its heat spread across the crowded landscape. The light seeped through the thick dense leaves and scattered itself across the warm grass. Through the shrubbery, you could hear the sound of something strong hitting wood and the sound of a man getting frustrated.
________________________________________Mumbo had been at this for hours now, every second he was getting more annoyed with how long this was taking. His base needed an upgrade; his plan for today was 'ruining' the stone brick walls. Leafs, wood and time are what he needed and he already wasted one by collecting the other two. The jungle was like a maze and he had already gotten lost twice in the last half hour.
'Why did I put this off for so long?'He mumbled, annoyed with himself. He still had a shulker box of oak leaves he needed- he hadn't even started collecting them yet. Getting all the jungle and oak wood was taking far much longer then what he estimated: he thought he would only be spending around twenty minutes, and he had spent over two hours and three diamond axes doing this.
He had almost all the oak wood he needed (since he was only using fences) but the thick jungle logs were proving to be a challenge to chop down. He may be surrounded by the wood he so badly needed but that's what made it a challenge, the suited hermit did not want to leave abandoned logs strewed across the luxurious greenery.
He finally decided to use the trees that were in a small clearing, it would be easy to plant them back and to grab any stray jungle wood. Stepping over the dried, crispy shrubbery and mossy moist twigs he had made his way to the open space. The sun still high in the sky but no longer straight above, its slow descent taunting Mumbo. He had spent another hour just stressing over where to get the materials, that he needed, from.
In the centre of the clearing stood a four by four stone box. Each block a different variation of stone: one smooth stone, one cobblestone and, two different types of brick - mossy and cracked. The smell of freshly dug earth filled the area and the crinkling of leaves was nice. Some clouds blocked the blazing yellow sun, only for the gentle light to cast down on the ground again. The stone cube stood out amongst the green and brown, but what stood out the most was an open book. The book was laid flatly on top of the grey stone(s), its reddish-brown cover protecting the pages from the sun.
Mumbo Jumbo silently walked to the book. Someone must have left this here he thought but who would leave a book here out of all places? Questioning why someone would leave it here was confusing. Maybe there is a name in it he hoped, it would be easier to return it. He put his half-broken axe away and reached for the warm book, the pages of the book cool and slight ripped. He turned the book around. Flipping through the pages, he scanned them for a name. Nothing. Then he came across the second the last page. A small green doodle. It faced, it looked as if it was smiling.
Then he started to feel ill.
_______________________________________Grian suddenly felt overwhelmed with an urge to sleep, his throat felt sore and his eyes were shut tight. His hand raised to his face, his red jumper sleeve lazily fell down his arm.
Every second, his head grew hotter, his need for sleep growing stronger. His entire body was filled with a burning yearn for rest. Grian thought he was going to pass out, so he made his way to his mansion door, swaying every time he moved his legs. His arms lazily fell to his side swaying with his body.
Once he reached the door, he rested the left side of his body on the wall for support. His cheek slightly grazed the cold wall. He stumbled to his right a bit, a little shocked at the low temperature.
"I better not be sick," he moved back towards the dark grey wall, "maybe I just need to sit... Or a drink?"
Yes I'm still alive and yes this book is no longer on hold (earlier then what I said)
