You have that effect on me!

Hazel's P.O.V

I stood there alone, thinking what just happened. Suddenly I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see Arthur fuming.

"What were you talking about with him?" He growled.

"Nothing I find important to tell you about!" I huffed.

"Yeah, I don't care. What were you talking?" He continued, as if he didn't even hear properly what I said.

"I have work to do Arthur. Get aside." I tried to push him away, but he didn't even budge.

"What the fuck? Stop this, okay? Why do you want to interfere in everything? I was talking with him something which should not concern you! Stop trying to include yourself in everything!" I burst out. He moved aside, but his eyes didn't leave me.

I didn't mean to burst out at him, well maybe I did; but he was being a jerk! I am not his girlfriend or anything! This reminded me of Trace. Did he really have any meeting?

After school, I walked to the ground. I sat down at the bleachers as I watched them play. Victor's words were still playing in my head.

I pulled out my chemistry notebook to complete the work and take my mind off these things. It didn't really help.

The practice ended in sometime. The players went in the school while Trace jogged near me. He grinned widely as he pecked on my cheek.

"Hey! You ready?" He asked as he brushed his damp hair with his hand.

"About that, Mrs. Lean is kinda on my back for practice. I need to practice everyday after school! I am so sorry..." I apologized. He just shook his head and smiled.

"It is fine Hazel. I know what it feels like. I have also not been able to spare enough time because of practice and stuff. But we will surely go out. Maybe after we both are free!"

I smiled as I quickly kissed him. He was so understanding, how could I think he was lying?

"Trace... I had to ask you something." I blurted out. He nodded, asking me to continue.

"You said you had a meeting today, but I met Victor in the corridor today, and he told there was no meeting today... what is up with that?"

Trace looked shocked for a second but quickly changed it to a irritated look, "Fine, actually we had a secret meeting. He is not the best captain and we were planning to convince the coach. That is why we did it. He didn't know, but I think that now he will start asking when you asked him. So... umm, never mind!"

I quickly tried to explain, all guilty, "Oh fuck! I am so sorry Trace! I didn't know! I am so sorry! I... I never meant to! Oh my god, why am I so dumb?! Oh shit-" I was cut short by a pair of lips. Trace just kissed me softly, as his fingers caressed my hand. They felt soft against me, but again, no fireworks...

He pulled back as he grinned, "You get so cute when you are all flustered! Don't worry, I will manage!"

I smiled as I grabbed my bag and rushed to my car. I quickly parked the car and took a quick shower. I threw in my ripped jeans and my casual tee. I grabbed my guitar and music sheets as I rushed to Arthur's house. I knocked twice and was greeted by Lana.

"Hey dear! I will just call Arthur!" I smiled as she called him. I saw someone come down, who surely wasn't Arthur. She was a girl, with blonde hair and 5 pounds of makeup and a slutty smile pasted on her face. Cathy.

"I would leave now Mrs. Jones!" She purred. "Hey Hazel! Arthur is coming in a minute!" She smirked as she fixed her dress.

"Oh dear! Did you two study biology properly? I think this dual study will help you!" Lana smiled.
