Five Months Since Sam Sacrificed Himself

Not only is Sam back, but he's been back for five months. Even before you knew he was out. He claims he's been topside since the event, which only puts more suspicion and doubt into your mind. You've learned more in the last five months than in your entire life. Sam is somehow back, but so is Mary's father, Samuel. He found Mary's living relatives, and that's where Sam has been all this time. You didn't get a lot of answers only because they didn't have a lot of answers to give. The only thing you do know is that people still need saving.

Now with a whole team behind you, you felt a lot better on hints. They know you're a witch, but only because you couldn't possibly keep it from them. Samuel let you and Sam go on lots of hunts together because he knew you two work well together. There would be times when there would be free time left over on a hunt, and most tones you spent it alone... stalking Dean.

Yes, you should have moved on already because he clearly has. However, you reached a point in the breakup where you feel sad; where you can't help but dwell on what could have been. Sam figured out what you've been up to after hunts were over, and he's been accompanying you ever since. There are only two reasons why you haven't told Dean that his brother is alive. One, Sam advised against it, and two, he made it clear that Dean moved on. Why would you pull him back into this life when he clearly got out of it? Despite what he did, you still love him. He's always dreamed of having the apple pie life, and he's finally gotten ahold on it. What kind of a person would you be if you stole that from him? At least Ben is his real son. Deans right, Lisa didn't throw away his child like you did.

It hurts to see him be so happy with her, especially when you know it should be you. You've been checking on him almost every night. It's not healthy, but you don't know what else to do.

"This isn't healthy, Y/N," Sam says from the passenger seat of his car.

You're parked across the street with your side facing his house. Dean's sitting in the kitchen with Lisa and Ben, just smiling and laughing. That should be you.

"That should be me and our kid, Sam. I regret what I did every damn day, but I can't seem to get away."

"It's his loss. He's the one who left. You tried to make it work."

"Yeah, I tried. He didn't even put in the effort. Am I not worth it? Am I so unlovable?"

Tears stream down your cheeks at the realization that you and Dean may never be together again.

"Y/N, you're smart, funny, you know more about hunting than anyone I've ever known, and you know, you're beautiful. It's a shame Dean didn't see that."

His voice is just but a whisper, his face is very close to yours, and he's telling you everything you want to hear, even though it's coming from the wrong guy.

"Sam," you whisper and face him.

You're vulnerable, wide open, and sad. He's here, you haven't seen him in a long time, and you're kind of lonely.

"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on."

You meet his gaze, and you see the unspoken question in his eyes. Are you really about to go there with your ex-boyfriend's younger brother?
