From what Sam gathered from Mr. Brennan, his hands were giving out. Mr. Brennan had worked with them his whole life, and he loved making watches. In order to keep a successful business going, he summoned a leprechaun and asked if he could heal his hands so he can get working. The leprechaun did him one better and offered to not only heal his hands but to make him the best watchmaker in town.
The only catch is to house his fairies who needed a place to stay. He thought that was a good deal and took it two months ago–right when the first disappearance started. However, the leprechaun didn't tell him all of the details of the dea because he took Mr. Brennan's firstborn son–Patrick–and has been taking firstborn sons all over town in the form of UFOs. There is a book to reverse the spell, but it's locked in his office and guarded by the fairies that Dean saw inside the shop.
It's yours and Sam's job to get it for him so he can make them all go away.
Dean is no help in jail, so with the help of Mr. Brennan, you break into his office. He shushes you with a finger to his lips because apparently, all the fairies are knocked out. You can't see them, but judging by Mr. Brennan's actions, you know they are.
"Are they here?" you whisper.
"Yeah, but it's all right. Greenhats like tequila," he reveals.
He must have put alcohol in the creamer so that they would pass out. That gives him enough time to get the book and do the spell. As he is getting the spell, you nudge Sam to get his attention.
"I don't know about you, but I am protecting my child at all costs... even if it means sacrificing you to do it," you whisper.
"I appreciate your honesty," he nods, not really fazed by it."
Mr. Brennan pulls out the book from his safe and opens it to the page that houses the spell He takes a deep breath and starts the incantation.
"Lich sha-hayt. Uh keeya shun, augus small un sorashun, augus phooetek en shia, en rache connecsha–"
Mr. Brennan is stopped mid-chant because something had stabbed him in the back. The blade goes through his back and out his front, and you back away just a little. Wayne Whittaker stands behind him and shoves him down to the floor. Now you know why you felt so off with Wayne and his UFO group. He's the leprechaun that Mr. Brennan made a deal with.
"You! You're the leprechaun?" Sam gasps.
"Indeed I am. Sorry about the mess, but your friend here went back on his deal."
"Well, you weren't very clear with him on the terms," you state.
He takes a few steps back, and you hate that you have to hide behind Sam in fear. It's like being pregnant is causing you to shift in your personality. Normally, you wouldn't back down and would stand front and center... but not this time.
"I told him there was a price. Once we come, we come to stay."
"So, you take firstborns and then what? You just sit back and watch while they cover the abductions for you with all that crazy UFO shit? Which you help encourage, naturally. Nice con. But, your cover's blown now, Wayne," Sam glares.
"Blown? To whom? Brennan's dead. Your brother? Heh. He's marked. Been to the ranch. He's ours now."
"Yeah. Well. Then there's us."
"You two? You can only see me if I let you," he smirks and just disappears.
Fear spikes in your brain as you stand in complete and utter silence. It's the kind of silence you fear because you don't know what is coming or when. Sam looks around with his gun pointed, but he doesn't shoot.
