The only reason why you slept with Sam is because you were vulnerable that first night. Seeing Dean so happy with his new family killed you, and Sam was there for you. If you had been alone, you never would have slept with Sam. You never really saw Sam in that kind of light until that night. Your emotions were getting in the way of you making a sound judgment. No, Sam didn't take advantage of you because you knew full well if you had said no, he'd back off.

The only reason why you kept it going was because it felt too damn good to stop. That's why you had to stop it. Being in contact with Dean again made you realize Sam is only a temporary thing. You always think about Dean when doing it, and you almost once screamed out his name. You have to try and move on, and you can't do it with Sam. He's tied too closely with Dean to fully move on.

So, if you're going to sleep with any more men, it's going to be men you pick up in bars. Total headcount: 0. Sam has a newfound stamina that causes him to do back to back hunts. He doesn't seem to get tired, and that's another reason why you have suspicions that he's not the same Sam that fell into the cage a year ago. You have to take a break eventually, but he doesn't seem to want to.

Sam caught a case in a nearby town that he wants to check on. It's only going to be you and him since Samuel and the rest of his clan are busy with something they don't really want to involve you two with. This case is weird because parents are brutally murdered and the child is missing. You don't know what is going on, but you're going to figure it out.

Cop cars are on the street and policemen walk in and out of the house that holds the recent crime scene. You're hanging out with one of the detectives on the case, so all you hear is radio chatter and mutterings coming from the police.

"Where'd you find them?" Sam asks the detective while holding the missing person flyer for the child.

"We found the parents upstairs. Pretty brutal."

"Break in?" you wonder.

"No, the alarm never went off. "

"Any leads on the baby?"

"None yet.

"So what do you think? Think it's okay? Alive?"

His behavior seems annoyed and impatient, but you remain on the subject at hand.

"She, Sam, it is a she," you state.

"I did yesterday," the detective says after looking at you.

"Thank you."

Apparently, Sam was finished. He approaches the crime scene and ducks under the police tape blocking off the front door.

"Sam, we weren't done," you sigh and follow him.

"I was."

What the hell is going on with him? Something is seriously off.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sam went through the house faster than you've ever seen anyone do. He did every test available, and it almost looked like he wanted to get this over with so that he can move onto the next case or monster. There will come a time when he feels burnt out, but you don't know when that will be or if it'll ever come.
