A Year Since Sam Sacrificed Himself

"I don't know about this Sam. We haven't spoken in a year, and the last conversation we had was a breakup. It was really messy," you sigh.

"A djinn had him. He was going to kill himself. Plus, how do you think he's going to feel once he figures out, we've been keeping my return from him? He's going to forget all about your breakup."

"Great, I get to be in another fight," you roll your eyes.

You go back into the room where you're keeping Dean. Sam has brought him back to the place where he and Mary's relatives are staying. It's going to come as a shock to him, but he has to know now. Dean mutters something as he wakes up, and you stand next to Sam nervously. He opens his eyes and stares at you then at his brother. He doesn't say anything except stare. You're kind of expecting a huge fight or blow out from him.

"Hey, Dean. I was expecting, uh, a hug or some holy water in the face–something."

"So, I'm dead? This is Heaven? Yellow eyes killed me–"

"Yellow eyes? That's who you saw?" you ask.

"Saw?"

"You were poisoned," Sam reveals. "So, whatever kind of crazy shit you think you were seeing, is not real."

"So, then, are you real?" Dean asks slowly.

"I'm real. Here let me save you the trouble."

Sam takes a silver knife from his jacket and cuts himself on his arm. No burning, just blood. He then puts some salt into a jug of holy water and chugs it.

"That's nasty." Sam shivers.

"Sammy?"

"Yeah, it's him," you sigh.

Dean gets up and hugs his brother tightly before pulling away.

"Wait a minute. You–you-you were–you were gone, Man. I mean, that was it. How the hell are you–"

"I don't know."

"What do you mean, I don't know?"

"He means he doesn't know. Neither do I," you snap.

Seeing him from a distance is one thing, but hearing his voice is another. It brings back all those unpleasant memories.

"Well, was it God? Cas? I mean does Cas know anything about it?"

"You tell me. I've been calling. He hasn't answered any of our prayers. We don't even know where he is. One minute I was down there, then the next it was raining and I was lying in that field alone. It's kind of hard to go looking for whatever saved you when you got no leads. I looked. Believe me, I looked for weeks."

"Wait, weeks? How long have you been back?" he asks his brother. When he doesn't give him an answer, he turns to you. "How long has he been back, Y/N?"

"A year."

"A year? You've practically been back this entire time?! What, did you lose the ability to send a fucking text message?" he turns to you angrily. "You knew this whole time and you didn't tell me?"

"I'm not your bitch anymore. Lisa is," you bite with fire.

His eyes hold so much fire and hatred, it's hard to get past it all. Luckily, Sam stepped in to save you. He places one hand on your lower back and pulls you in. That first night isn't the only night you and Sam have had sex.
