You and Sam have been through a lot. You've had a lot of good times you'd rather go back to than be stuck in this moment. You can't foresee the future, so it's hard to know just how long you're going to feel like this. Thinking about those good times is what helps you get through some days.
You can remember when Dean and Cassie were reconnecting, and you just couldn't help but feel resentment toward her. Sam is the one who told you to either woman up and tell Dean how you feel or to let Cassie sink her claws in him again. He was there for you, but he also helped you land Dean.
There was another time when you two were kids where John and Dean would go on hunts and leave you with Sam inside the motel rooms. You two would find anything to do to pass the time, and you'd have fun together. He would miss John and Dean, but you'd keep him busy with a smile on his face.
More recently, Sam was the one you leaned on when you and Dean had that big fight that ended it all. He knew how hard this was for you, so he let you use him as physical and emotional support. It's sad to think this is where you are now, but that's life you guess.
Sam and Dean are talking inside the motel room, and you're kind of paying attention. You thought getting back to the normal hunts would be good for you, but you're so distracted, that you're not useful after all.
"What do you got?" Dean asks just brother.
"Well, it looks like those other two missing girls both baked cookies for the lord."
"What is that? Code?"
"No. Church choir, bake sales, promise-ring clubs—the works. They were good girls. But Penny wasn't even a Christian, so—"
"I have another theory. Penny's diary," Dean smirks and holds up her diary.
"Did you steal that from her room?" Sam gasps.
You're shocked to hear him say that, but you have to remind yourself it doesn't make everything better.
"I love that you even asked me that," Dean laughs.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"No reason. So girl-nappings. What if it's not about religion, what if it's about purity? Virgins, Sam, virgins."
"Penny was twenty-two," Sam points out.
"So? You think all women lose their virginities at a young age? Some people might want to wait for marriage. Some women don't even have the choice but to wait. Some women—"
"Let's say you're right. Fine. Who would want virgins?" Sam interrupts you.
"You got me. I prefer ladies with experience. Right Y/N?"
"Shut the fuck up," you snap.
"Are you okay, Y/N? You can tell me. It's me. Is something wrong?" Sam asks.
"I don't know Sam, is it?" you ask angrily.
"Her hormones are off. Don't mind her," Dean passes off your comment.
Tears build up and you get up before they can see you cry. You leave the room and slam the door behind you. This is getting to be too damn hard, and you pull out your phone to call your dad. You just need to hear his voice to tell you that you're allowed to feel this.
"Hello?"
"Dad, I thought I could do this. I can't. I don't think I can handle this," you cry softly.
"Whoa, wait, slow down. Tell me what happened."
"Sam truly doesn't remember anything. He's acting like his old self, and I can't just stand there and be mad at him because it's Sam, but I can't not forgive him. I'm allowed to feel this way, right? I'm allowed to hate Sam?" you ask, your voice cracking.
