Chapter 6: Pillow.

"Mean Girls is better than Legally Blonde. What are you smoking?" Tobias asks me.

"Are you dumb?" I ask him, folding my arms.

"Legally Blonde literally has a thousand plot holes. I mean, why does Elle marry Emmett? And Reese Witherspoon can't carry a character." Tobias says and I gasp.

"How could you?" I say, touching my chest.

"Someone had to say it." He tells me and I smack him on the head.

"Can the two of you stop bickering and help me figure this out?" Riley says holding the map in her hands.

We decided to go on a hike on Bloomingdale Trail and let's just say we're lost.

"We just need to go down the path we came." Tobias says which earns him a glare from Riley.

"You know what, why don't you two figure it out then." Riley says, handing over the map to Tobias.

"We need to go straight then make a left turn." Tobias tells us.

"And how did you know that?" I question.

"Pfft, please. I did geography okay. Map reading is my thing." He brags and I suck my teeth.

"And you had us standing here freezing for what?" Riley asks him as a frown covers her face.

Minutes later, we're inside my Porsche. I start the car and drive down the highway.

"This car is amazing." Tobias comments.

"I know right." I say with a smile on my face. I drive past a familiar coffee shop that I stare at for a little too long.

"Let's take in a show tonight." Riley suggests.

"I'm down. I really don't want to go back to campus tonight." Tobias tells us.

"Keith Yarander is in town. He's playing at the Chicago Theater today." Riley tells us.

"Nope, I'm not going." I tell her.

"Why?" She asks me.

"She's the girl Keith gave a lap dance to in his last concert." Tobias tells her.

"How did I not notice? My best friend is a star." Riley says with pride.

"I can drop you guys off, but I am not going." I say with a firm tone.

"The music in here is so loud." I say, yelling so that Riley and Tobias can hear me.

"That's because you made us stay in front of the speakers." Tobias tells back.

"I don't want him to notice me, okay." I say, covering my ears.

"Well, I'm done with this shit." Riley says before she walks away.

"Me too." Tobias says, following her.

"Go figure." I say to myself.

"Valarie?" I hear Someone call out.

For the love of God, can't I just go somewhere without anyone recognizing me.

I turn around and I see Ashton.

Shocker.

"H-hi." He stutters.

"Hey, Ash." I say in a high pitched tone.

"We haven't seen each other on campus. I wonder why." He says, smiling.

Because I've been religiously avoiding you.
