Quietly not making a sound leaving her flat, she waits outside with the bitter coldness hitting her cheeks. She wears a heavy coat to keep her warm. Ester hears the sound of a car pulling up and sees it's all black and shiny. She glares at him when she jumps into the car, almost like he hasn't changed from last night.

'Morning.' she says without sounding too chirpy, she believes he wasn't a morning person. Drew looks are her quickly and pull the car out.

'Morning.' he replies, 'Take it that you slept well?'

'Never better.' she says smiling, it then went quiet, and she stared out the window. She texted Brad late when she got in apologising she got caught up, before Ester put her phone down it buzzed instantly and decided not to look at it until this morning. Brad begged her to come over again and wished she was in his bed. It wasn't cute flirtatious that she would like, sounded more desperate just for the sex. Drew became nervous of how quiet it becomes.

'So-' he starts,

'How-' she says, they talk at the same time and then stop.

'No, go on.' he says to her.

'How long are we going to be working today?'

'Why is there somewhere you have to be?'

'No, just curious.' luckily the journey was short, as he parked the car and Ester followed him in.

As they come into the studio, she can smell something fresh and delightful, as she saw the pastry and coffee at the table.

'Mmm, smells good.' she states,

'Glad you liked it, wasn't sure if it was to your taste.' Drew scratches the back of his neck and takes his cap off. Ester peels her large coat off, wearing her tight black dungaree dress with a white crop top underneath. Her legs are on show and wears her black ankle boots with her hair falling naturally wavy. Ester wanted to wear this, usually this would be for when she dresses out on a night out or a date, but today, she wanted his eyes on her. Drew glimpses at her curves and the bare skin on the sides she shows and how much he wants to feel it. She sits down on the sofa and takes a bite out of her croissant, gathering his thoughts he sits next to her sipping his coffee.

'Thank you, but you didn't have to get me breakfast.'

'I need to, consider it as me saying sorry.' his eyes were showing guilt and she couldn't help but stare. 'I've been rude to you, and it's not right.' Drew places his coffee down and faces her properly. 'I would like your help today, as I need a new direction.'

As Ester stares at him, she is noticing this new Drew, who she wanted to see at the beginning. Almost like this wall is coming down.

'Why me?' she asks,

'You've got something that I find interesting.' His deep tone in his voice made her hairs stand on her arm,

'Is it because you now know who I am?'

'I'm glad I found out it was you.' his voice again made her shiver, and she went quiet for a bit.

'Me too.' Drew smiles at her, happy that she feels the same. Something about her free spirit makes him feel alive again. They gaze at each other until the door opens.

'Hey girl.' Naomi comes in with her tight denim jeans and a grey vest top, making a dress down day,

'Hey, are you here for the day?' Ester asks, as Naomi checks her phone quickly and puts it away.

'No, I have loads of emails to go through. You two have fun.' As she leans across and picks up a croissant left on the plate, 'Oh Drew, they'll be here soon.'

He understood by nodding back, Ester would question it, but is going through the spark she had with Drew. As Naomi left, she's thinking in her thoughts and stroking her legs.

'Right, let's get started.' she says to break the silence, they get up and go into the studio. She goes to her usual spot behind the keyboard.

'Ok, so you want this new direction....what is it?' Ester questions,

'I want to do something more upbeat.' Drew says and paces back and forth thinking.

'Well that new song you released "Breathing Space" is quite upbeat.'

'Yeah, but I could do better. I defiantly want more techno implied.' The concentration on his face makes her think it's cute on him.

'Maybe changing the title of your songs might help?' he looks at her baffled on what she is implying, 'let's look at your lyrics.' She places her hand out for him to give the tablet with them. As she scans through it, the words beautifully written with the title called "Living out of the dark". Ester studies it more, and a lyric section caught her interest,

The world won't tell you to behave,

A cruel place that we stay,

Fighting out of the shadows,

Escaping the beast,

I'm not excepting defeat,

I'm undefeated.

'What about calling it "Undefeated" instead?' Drew crossed his arms,

'But I only say it in the bridge.'

She shrugs, 'So, we could find a way of making it into other parts too, maybe add in a chant or something?'

He uncrossed his arms, making him believe she has a lead on something. 'All right. Let's give it a go.'

They power through the track and try out some effects on the sound deck too, and it became clear this could be an upbeat song about fighting away the evil thoughts that processed through your head, with the positive upbeat from the melody. Once they settle with it, they start recording it and would make some more changes with the sound deck section. Drew knows how to use this better than Ester, so she suggests, and he tries it out. Sitting in a swivel chair each, she moves around a lot into it sometimes accidentally bashing into his leg, and he doesn't seem to mind. She admits to herself she's flirting and doesn't mind doing it, Brad isn't 100% her boyfriend, and it's all innocent in her eyes. When the track was reasonable enough to be listened to, it was played on more time and bopping their heads to it while looking at each other.

'Wow, we make a great team.' She says,

'Yeah, this is just what I needed.' he stops the track and draws his attention to her,

'Ester, I can't thank you enough. You've been what I needed for this.' He grabbed her hands which made her catch her breath. 'You have an amazing way of writing music.' his sincere words made her blush.

'Drew, stop. It was a joint effort.' she went red in the face, still holding his hands looking down at them and then back at him. They gape at each other, wondering what they are thinking. 'You have an amazing way of singing....' she continues, and he leans a bit closer, '...and how you perform...' Ester wanted him closer and started to smell the coffee off his breath, Drew wanted this, he wanted her.

Two knocks went at the door, she lets go and pushed herself away enough for it to be suspicious.
