They never spoke to each other at band practice unless it was about the songs, she tried to hold back her emotions as best as she could, it was hurting her more that Drew was only in arms reach and she could not go near him.

As the evening came to a close, she collected her things and started to make her way out, not without getting a glimpse of him one more time.

'Ester,' He says, and she turns around instantly, 'nine o'clock tomorrow....' He keeps his eyes onto the sheets of paper in his hands, '...Don't be late.' The silence in the room between the two of them was not comfortable, and he can see her in the corner of his eye but did not make it noticeable. She stands there a little bit longer to see if he had more to say, and when it never came, Ester left quietly.

For the first time, she did not want to turn up to the studio, and to hear the record label does not want her because she isn't, "something different" hurt. Also, to be told by the person who hurt her more was harder to swallow. Ester barely made an effort today, as she might as well called in sick and have the day to mope feeling sorry for herself.

'Morning.' Myles says lying comfy on the sofa, excited for the day ahead of him.

'Morning.' She returns, but it just was not right, nothing was.

'Geez, that didn't sound great, what happened, a boy broke your heart or some shit?' Ester gave an average smile and thought, "yes, that's exactly it."

'I'm not a morning person.' she lies, Drew comes in with no expression on his face what so ever, not giving anything away.

'You got a song?' He asks, not even with a greeting he gets straight to it,

'Yes, I wrote it not long ago, but I'm thinking of changing the lyrics a bit.' Ester acts professional, even with the elephant in the room.

'Why's that?'

'Because they don't mean anything to me....not anymore.' He stares at her, considering that she needs his help, he has to act like a producer and not her friend, or even a lover.

'You write them for a reason, whether it's not what you are feeling right now, but you felt something and there's nothing wrong with embracing it.' Ester can sense his guard falling again, even if it was an accident, 'Let's try it with them at least.' She nodded and would agree to everything he said today.

Ester goes into the recording booth and sits on the piano. She played it once when Drew accidentally heard her play one of his tracks. It surprised her that he never said anything about her being there, as he was the only person that could only sit and use this instrument.

'What's it called?' he asks through the speaker, and she places her face close to the microphone and gulps.

'My Adventure.'

'Ok, let's hear it.'

Ester exhales and places her hands softly on the keys, she closes her eyes and pretends nobody is here listening. She pictures every moment she had with Drew through her head, trying hard to face the reality that once she opens her eyes, he is not hers anymore....
