Not Just A Fan

Chapter 15

The person on the other side of the door pushes their way,

'Hey you two, just stopping by but I also picked up these two on the way.' Naomi moves to display two characters she recognises.

'Ryleigh!' she screeches running out of her chair and jumps into her arms.

'Ester!' Ryleigh squeaks back and tightens their hug. She had her blonde hair down with a tight vest top and jeans, she steps to one side and gives her room for Ester to hug him.

'Rory.' she goes for a hug, his brown short hair and vest top showing his tattoos on his arms.

'Hey, Es. Long time no see.' he says, Drew watches and loves the smile Ester shows. He met them at the awards and liked their work and wanted to collaborate when the competition ended. That was also the first time he socialised again, Naomi pushed him to go. He then started to think the thought of almost kissing Ester, he processes this guilt and hurt running in his mind again and again, as if he ever thinks of her more then a friend. The pains in his chest hurt, 'I'll let you all catch up a sec, and I'll be right back.' Drew states and walks out quickly.

Luckily no one thought of this as odd behaviour and carried on when Drew came back in. Ester told them about a new track they started working on today and could not wait to show them, Ryleigh explained on why she was here, and it was to record her vocals for one of the songs Ester helped.

'I heard the "into heaven" track, and I'm guessing the female versions I'm meant to do happen to be you?' she asks, and Ester goes all red,

'Yeah, you could say that.'

Drew escorted Ryleigh into the sound booth, and stayed with the sound deck concentrating on the song. At the back of the room, she caught up with Rory and congrats them on making their relationship out to the public.

'Yeah, it was hard to keep it a secret, but I'm glad it's out there now.' he smiles while watching her sing, 'I'm proud of her.'

Ester asks more about how her album is coming along and about what he will be doing next. He tells her Ryleigh is in the progress of working on her album by doing long hours to meet and hoping to announce a tour. Also, he is writing some music of his own until he can go in with a label and start recording.

'I didn't know you and Drew where good friends?' He quizzes her.

'Actually, this is my first time on my own with him today. I've always been with the rest of the band for practice, he wanted a new direction in his music and thought I could help.'

'Bit unusual for him to do that, thought of him more as a lone wolf.'

'Yeah same here.' she turns to look at him and only sees his back, but she can picture his concentration face.

Ryleigh came out of the recording booth and heard back the track, as they all listened to it and can feel the emotion the song brings.

'Drew, I was wondering. Would it be possible to give me some backing vocals, possibly Esters?' she asks him, he nods and starts making tweaks on the track. A couple of years ago, Drew would be rude and sarcastic about it, he never was one to hear others constructive criticism and took it as a negative impact. Today, he felt a change and took it in his stride to carry on with it. After the tweaks, he plays it back, and it sounded better considering this is the final one.

'That's so much better, thank you for the suggestion.' Drew says, he always thought of Ryleigh being a pretty women but deemed her as not his type. She suited for Rory, and they looked like the perfect couple.
