When Amelia heard what Harry saw, she went back to the house, but she found she couldn't find it. There was 3 Privet Drive, then 5 Privet Drive. And this wasn't America, so they were all in order.

She cursed. "Dumbledore," she muttered, "Stupid Blood Wards."

She disapparated to the Manor and collapsed into the nearest chair. It was pure luck that nobody else was around.

Then the tears came.

She failed. She failed Lily and James. She failed Harry. She failed Alice and Frank. She failed Sirius. She failed Regulus. She failed Camellia.

Cammie.

Amelia remembered when the girl entered her life— and left it.

10-year-old Amelia couldn't find her dad. He was just gone.

"Dad?" she yelled, "Dad? Where'd you go?"

"I wouldn't do that," said a small voice.

Amelia frowned and looked around, her gaze falling on a little girl about the same age as her, maybe younger, sitting in a corner, away from prying eyes.

"Why?"

"He won't come back," she said, "I saw. You saw. He's gone."

"No," Amelia said, "Th-that was just a dream. Tell me it was just a dream."

"If I did, I'd be lying. I'm sorry."

"No," Amelia whispered, then she said, louder, "No. No! NO! He can't be dead! He can't be!"

The girl just patted the spot next to her and hugged Amelia, trying to soothe her. A brave feat for some little 10 years old. They sat like that until the next sunrise.

"I'm Camellia, by the way, Camellia Harlow."

Amelia sniffed, wiping a stray tear away, "Amelia Snape."

Camellia smiled, "Nice to meet you, Amelia Snape. I take it you can see that Pine tree over there?"

Amelia looked. "Yeah..."

Camellia then said, "Race you there."

That was the start of a beautiful friendship.

And there when Amelia lost said best friend. She wasn't even there when it happened. It was only 5 years after they had met.

"Have you seen Cam?" she asked Regulus.

He hesitated a bit, then sighed and looked at Amelia. "Mel, you know the war going on in America. Half-bloods against half-bloods."
