Mama: Our Last Day With You

AMIYAH
--------

I rubbed my slightly red eyes, and I risen up from the bed. Last night was very emotional, but every time I looked down at my new ring I smiled.

"Goodmorning," August said, walking out the bathroom.

"Goodmorning," I mumble.

"Baybeh' cheer up I'll beh' back I promise," August said before picking me up.

"I know, I know," I say before getting myself out his arms, and wiping my tears.

AUGUST

"I know, I know," Amiyah said befa' leavin' my arms.

I sigh and sit down on our bed.

"Goodmorning Daddy," Abrielle said, while kissin' my cheek.

"Goodmorning princess," I say, makin' ha' smile.

Amiyah finally dun' came out tha' bathroom, ha' eyes was puffy, and it was killin' meh.

"Mama," I got up and hugged ha'.

"Baybeh' we dun' did this befa', stop cryin'," I say in ha' eah', softly strokin' ha' hair.

"I.know.it's.hard.every.time, especially since.you.are.going.to.be.gone.for.6.months," She mumbled in between ha' sobs.

"I luh' ya' mama," I kiss ha, fohead', while backin' up ta' see ha' face.

"I love you too," She said softly.

I left August's embrace, while going to his closet. I pulled out one of his big T-shirts, and let my tears spill on it. I knew I was being babyish about it, but I haven't been away from August this long.

"Mama, stop cryin," August said, while finding me again.

"I'm not crying," I mumble while getting up.

I felt my arm being pulled, with words following it," Babe, I know ya' was, look stop takin' it so hard."

"Let me go August," I grit in between my teeth.

"I ain't playin' witcha'," August said, pulling my body close to his.

"August quit," I say, even though I wanted him to hold me like this forever.

"I know ya', ya' probably thinkin' keep holdin' meh'," August said, making me smile a little.

"Thea' go tha' gawjus' smile," He smiled, showing his dimple.

I hid my face in his chest, while he put his head in my hair. I just smiled to myself, realizing I had the best husband ever.

***********

August and I were watching TV, while the girls were playing barbies.

"Ya' phone ringin' mama," August said, handing me my phone.
