Summary: In a world where red strings are prominent, when Kongpob finally finds the person he's tied to, everything doesn't sit right to him. So, he gives it a day thinking that he's just shocked but when he finds a guy that puts all the feelings in him, he finds himself wanting to defy what fate has for him. But, can he? Can they rewrite their fate?
//
Kongpob sighs to himself and let his feet wander wherever he can think to himself, anywhere, he just wants to be alone today.
He looks at the red string tied to his pinky finger and sighs again. Kongpob is one of the few lucky people who have the chance of seeing the red strings but Kongpob won't consider himself lucky, not this time, no.
Earlier, he finally met the woman at the end of his red string of fate and honestly, it disappointed him a lot. When he was young, he would always want to hear his parents' love story. It's one of the best.
They said it was love at first sight because they were fated.
Fated.
Apparently, being fated and meeting the one you're fated with are the most prominent things to happen in one's life.
Kongpob believed all his life that meeting that person he's bound to be with for the rest of his life– that person predestined by gods themselves– will be his special day but when he did, it meant nothing for him. He didn't feel anything, at all, and it sucked because he was very excited for this day to come.
Earlier, when he saw the woman he's tied with and not one speck of emotion was emitted from him, before the woman could notice him, Kongpob found himself running away from her.
Now, here he is. With nowhere to go. Running away from his own destiny. His fate.
Kongpob mentally curses himself. He's so unlucky. His parents had one of the best love stories out there and here he is, he's got the worst.
He should have felt something but he didn't. It's who the gods want for him so why can't his damn heart just beat erratically for that woman?
Maybe it's an exchange since he can see the red string of fate? He's stuck in a loveless relationship. If it is, then, he doesn't want to see the strings anymore, he just needs to feel something for that woman so he can have a beautiful love story of his own, like his parents'.
Or maybe, he was just shocked. Maybe he's expected too much from this fate thing, maybe it's not supposed to be magical like what his parents made it to be. Maybe, if he met her again, and Kongpob knows they're going to meet again since they're fated, maybe he can finally feel something for her. Even just a little.
Yeah, but tonight, he can't. He needs to think for a while.
Suddenly stopping, Kongpob looks at the side and sees a bar. Great. This place is perfect to think to himself. Every couch at the bar is full so he looks far ahead and he smiles when he sees a vacated chair by the counter.
Kongpob coughs and taps the guy nursing his own drink by the counter. "Excuse me, is this seat taken?"
The guy then looks at him and Kongpob feels everything around him suddenly blurring and all he can think of and see clearly is this anonymous guy in front of him. Suddenly, everything falls into right places.
Kongpob finds himself unable to breathe. He's frozen on his spot, the guy is very handsome– no, 'handsome' won't suffice his looks. He's just... his beauty is heavenly.
Kongpob hears his heart beating erratically with white noise surrounding him. This. This is the feeling he should've felt a while ago. So he is normal after all. So his parents are not making it up. Love at first sight is real... though it's not towards his fated person.
