"So, we're done with our assignment in calculus, how many works do we still have?" Tutah asks his friends as he ticks the calculus assignment off from the list and tries to remember every work their professors have given them for the past week.
"A hundred," Bright jokes, or not really, it's not far from reality, with them having their hell month and their professors hell-bent on giving them heavy works.
"No, really, how many?"
"For real. Don't ask. Just do it all. You're just going to stress yourself out because you know you'll be stressing it and you won't finish anything because you're still stressed you're stressing about while not doing any actual work, so, don't." Even Bright doesn't understand what he's trying to point out. He's so stressing.
"Just give me a number Bright. I don't want to hear your stupid logic."
"Close to twenty," Arthit mutters before Bright could give them another stressing lecture.
Tutah groans and massages his temples. "What? I don't think I can think of anything anymore. I'm so beat."
"Well, we are too but we're not crying."
Tutah scoffs. "I'm not crying, well, at least not yet."
Bright faces his friend and seeing Tutah just making a surly face, he realizes Tutah's not the one making the wailing sound, turning their heads, they all find the source of the odd sound and sees a 2-year old girl garbed in a pink dress, curly hair in ponytails crying in the middle of the open-air cafeteria.
Knot, the mother hen that he is, immediately runs towards the kid and carries the kid in his arms. The kid stops wailing but she's still crying softly.
"It's alright, sweetheart, it's alright. We'll help you," Knot softly murmurs, softly swinging the kid. "Are you lost? Do you want us to find your parents?"
"Daddy... Papa..." The kid responds, laying her head on Knot's broad shoulder. Arthit is grateful that Knot (even with his large physique) is actually great at handling kids or else, they won't be of any help seeing Arthit is staying behind Prem who is trying to hide behind Bright who is using Tutah to distance himself from the kid.
Yes, they're pretty much useless.
"What's the name of your father? Maybe we can ask around. What does he look like?" Knot continues to ask.
The kid remains sobbing her eyes out, not giving any helpful information. Knot sighs and continues to comfort her. He looks around for any sign of a troubled look of a parent but all he finds are few students roaming around.
He reckons, she may be a daughter of a teacher but before he could walk them to the president's office to report the incident, Kongpob, the university's moon, passes by.
Almost immediately, the kid stops crying and gleefully shouts, "Daddy!"
She removes herself from Knot's arms and runs to Kongpob, hugging the younger's leg. Then, she looks up with a wide smile, "Daddy!"
Kongpob, though he's unsure of what's happening, picks her up and hugs her in his arms.
"You're this kid's father? Nong Kong, why didn't you tell us you have a kid?" Bright asks finally stepping beside Knot and Tutah.
"I don't have a kid P'. I don't know who this kid is."
"But she's saying you're her father. We found her crying here looking for her father." Prem.
