Chapter 16

OFA POV

Its dark … I cant see anything, I cant hear anything except my own heavy breathing. Tasi … omg Tasi.  I try to move but my body is not letting me move …

I’m pulled from the car and all I can hear around me are voices and none of which are Tasi while I was going in and out of consciousness.

I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping in my ears.  I have a bad headache. I open my eyes and sit up in bed and take in my surroundings.  I hear voices amongst the bird chirps and kids screaming from the distance but I don’t know where I am.

I look around in search of my husband and my mind goes back to the events of last night, my heart starts to pound, my headache becomes worse within seconds and I feel my eyes watering up and my breathing becomes heavier and heavier … I burst out into tears.  I get out of bed and I notice I am not wearing what I wore yesterday but I am wearing what looks like a blue old lady island dress I think they call it Muumuu but this is the least of my worries.

I grab my things and I’m surprised to find my phone amongst it all. I switch my phone on and dial Tasi’s number.  It goes to voicemail.  By now my heart almost cannot take it anymore.

I storm out of the room and into a big living area to find there is no one there.  I hear voices but I don’t know where they are coming from … or maybe my mind is just playing tricks on me.

My tears are streaming down my cheeks as I head out of the living area.  Why is it that there is no one around? Why am I in these clothes? And who brought me here.

“Tasi” I call out in a shaky tone

“Tasi” my knees almost give way as I grab ahold of the railing by the house.  My whole being is taken over by sobs and cries.  If something ever happened to Tasi I don’t know how I would be able to cope with life.

“Tasi” I cry out. My body drops to the ground shaking and whimpering, I don’t know what to think and I don’t know what to do.

In the midst of my cries and sobbing I hear footsteps on the rocks heading towards me.

I cry much louder now, hoping if it is a local they could see how hurt I am and help me.

“Ofa?” I hear a female voice before I feel her rubbing my back. How did she know my name? maybe she knows where Tasi is.
