~***~

A slender finger prodded my side and caused a groan to escape my lips in annoyance. My nose scrunched up and I tried to ignore it, however I was prodded once again. "Ly, we're home," Lando's gentle voice said. I slowly opened my heavy eyes to see his smiling face. Lando was crouched down in front of me, his finger extended to poke me again whilst the other rested on the edge of my seat for support. The breeze from the open car door made me shiver, and my arms that were wrapped around my body tightened to fight the cold.

"Can you carry me?" I mumbled, looking up at him with large eyes to try and convince him to give in to my request. I jut out my lower lip slightly in a pout and rolled my head to the side to get a better look at him. "Please?"

Lando let out a soft sigh, however the smile didn't leave his face. He brought his hand up to my cheek and gently caressed the smooth skin. His skin was cold, and the contact caused a shiver to run through my body. "Of course." I opened my arms as he leaned forward to wrap them around his shoulders. One of Lando's arms supported my back, whilst the other hooked underneath my legs. I let out a noise of pain when Lando stood up too quickly, my head, as a result, colliding with the top of the car. My nose scrunched in pain as I rubbed the area. It definitely woke me up. "Sorry, Ly! Shit, are you okay? I'm really sorry."

"I'm fine," I reassured, "but you're not getting a thank you for the poor service."

"I guess that's not too bad," Lando replied through his laughter. The noise was so melodic and perfectly orchestrated the butterflies in my stomach to flutter around. His shoulders bounced with each chuckle. Lando's grip around my body was firm, but gentle. I knew he had no problems carrying me because of the extensive training required to be a formula one driver.

I snuggled my head into the crook of his neck as he closed the door of the car with his foot. "If this was uber, you would not be getting five stars."

"Oh, I'm heartbroken," he sarcastically said. I couldn't help the giggle that escaped my lips when Lando dug his fingers into the side of my ribs. I squirmed and tightened my grip on his neck. "Gosh, I love your laugh."

"I love yours, too," I told him, trying to hold back the grin. My fingers twirled the short curls at the back of his head as he turned to look at me. Our faces were only a few inches apart and I felt my heart skip a beat. His warm breath fanned my face before he pressed a delicate kiss to the tip of my nose.

"I really have missed you."

"And I've missed you, Lan," I confessed, snuggling back into his shoulder so that our faces weren't as close. I was struggling to control my thoughts with his lips being so close to mine. Get a fucking grip on yourself, Ly, you're in a relationship! "It's weird having to annoy a different guy when you're not there." Good, mention Nicky. "And it's hard to annoy Nicky because he acts as if I'm a princess. He's just too nice."

Lando scoffed. "You're far from it."

I pulled the few hairs I still had in-between my fingers, raising Lando to scrunch his nose in pain. "Oops, did that hurt?" I dramatically pouted. "What a shame."

I'm sure it was my comment that inspired Lando to purposefully knock my head on the doorframe as we entered the house. His mocking pout made me want to smack him across the head, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I knew the next stage of this would be for him to just drop me onto the floor where we stood in the entrance hall. My grip around his neck tightened slightly just in case. My best friend wore a smirk so I knew he was unpredictable.
