Tony stepped into Steve's room and bowed his head. "Rogers," he said quietly.

Steve stood up from where he was sitting at his desk and walked over to Tony. Tony was still looking away, expecting the annoying "don't speak to Bucky like that" talk. But instead, Steve said "What are you..."

Tony looked up. "Pardon?" He asked.

"That...thing you put on yourself the other day. The red body with blue eyes. What are you?"

"Second time you've asked me this. My answer remains the same; Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist"

"This is not the time for jokes, Tony. By law and morality, I should have you executed right now. You are an unknown threat"

"Great, let's get on with it then. Put me out of my misery"

"Tony."

"Sorry"

"It's taken a lot...for me to come to terms with the fact that you're telling the truth. I still don't want to believe it. I don't want to believe that I'll never see you again" Tony could hear the pain in Steve's voice even though he did a really good job at masking it.

"...Soooo you're not going to lecture me on the way I speak to Bucky?"

"...what? No, of course not"

"Good, cause I've already heard it a thousand times from my Steve. I'm glad I won't have to hear it again from you"

Steve sighed. He held Tony's hand and led him to the bed where they both sat down on the edge. "So...are we a thing in the future as well?" Steve asked.

"Uhh we were. But then we didn't work out due to a series of events. You left and now you're a fugitive hiding with Bucky and Sam somewhere half way across the world. And we're not speaking to each other" Tony explained.

"That's horrible. What was future me thinking? Had a heavy item fallen on my head?

"You were thinking you wanted to protect Bucky. And you were right to, he's your best friend, he's the one for you"

"Don't spout such nonsense, Tony. Bucky's not the one for me, you are. I would never leave you"

"I thought that too" Tony chuckled. "Whatever, it's all done and gone. Let's not dwell on it too long"

Steve just shook his head. He cupped Tony's face and leaned in to kiss him passionately, as if to show that he'd never leave Tony again. When he pulled back he just looked into Tony's eyes fondly and caressed his cheek with his thumb. He couldn't believe such things happened in the future. "I'm sorry" he all but whispered.

"I, uhh, don't think you should be kissing me anymore, now that I've told you the situation" Tony laughed awkwardly.

"But I want to..." Steve pouted.

"Steve-"

"Please?"

"I cannot make out with someone I ended a bad relationship with. It's not right and it gives the wrong message"

"What message?"

"That there's a possibility we can get back together again. And that's not true, we can't, it's over"

"But I'm not the Steve that left you"

"Regardless, you're still Steve. You have his face, his voice, his body, his name. It's not happening"

"Please~" Steve grinned, pulling Tony closer and stuffing his face in Tony's neck.

"Steve!" Tony panicked and nudged him away. Steve chuckled seeing how red Tony got. "Sitting on the same bed is clearly not helping" Tony got off the bed and paced around.
