Steve and Tony spent some time in the castle. But ultimately Tony decided he wanted to go for a walk with Steve around the lands.
Steve advised against it since it looked like it was going to start raining soon, but Tony insisted. Steve being unable to say no, he gave in and agreed to it. Tony told him that if anything he can put on the suit and fly them back before it starts pouring.
It was a little cold but not enough to make anyone shiver. The dark clouds made the sky turn grey. Though it was dark, the sun still somehow illuminated everywhere.
"We're planning to build a water fountain here that the knights will be able to drink from when they take a break" Steve explained pointing to an area on the side of the road.
"I can help with the blue prints. I mean, I'd love to actually build it myself but...I gotta go back...as you, uh, know" Tony said a little awkwardly.
Steve hid the frown threatening to show and replaced it with a small smile. He didn't his time with Tony right now to feel bitter. "That'd be great actually. I didn't know you had wisdom in architecture" Steve kept his voice light hearted.
"It's more in engineering than in architecture but sure," Tony shrugged.
Steve smiled and pulled him in to press a kiss to his cheek. "There's heavy fog ahead. I think it's time we go back now" Steve suggested. Tony froze upon seeing something in the distance. He could've swore on everything right now that he just saw a white horse. A beautiful pure white horse. Steve looked behind himself to estimate their distance between the castle. "I think we've gone a little far off, so you'll finally be able to show me how that red suit of yours works, huh?"
When Steve turned back around, Tony was no longer by his side. He caught a glimpse of the genius running into the fog and then disappearing. He shouted Tony's name in horror and ran after him.
Tony was walking through the fog, unable to see anything ahead of him. The only things that stood out were the trees. So Tony followed them.
"Tony!? Where are you!?" Steve called out.
"I'm over here!" Tony called back.
Steve kept trying to track where he was by listening to where his voice was coming from, so he kept shouting, and Tony kept communicating in return.
Tony finally made it to the end of the path he was following. He found himself in a large empty field. The fog was lighter but not by a lot. His eyes worked hard to spit that white horse. And when he finally did, his heart dropped.
It was collapsed on the ground, bleeding. It appears as though someone nearby hunted it, which was surprising to say the least considering the fog. But seeing as the supposed hunter didn't come back to get it, they must've thought they missed upon not being able to see it through the fog.
Tony slowly approached the carcass. He felt a heavy lump in his throat. There were black butterflies fluttering around it. The sight was something straight out of a story book. Tony lifted a hand over his mouth in anguish.
Eventually the king caught up to him. Steve held Tony's hand so tight, his heart still beating so hard it could burst out of his chest after the scare Tony just put him through.
"What on earth were you thinking, running off like that!?" Steve scolded him.
"I..." Tony was at a loss for words. "I saw...it...so I chased after...and then...this.." he didn't know what to say.
Steve was also shocked to see the carcass. Knowing how terrible it must feel to see it, he covered Tony's eyes and turned him away from the sight
"Do you think you'll be able to take us back in this fog?" Steve asked.
Tony gathered himself back up and nodded. He tapped the arc reactor and put on the suit. Told Steve to hold on tight, and flew high in the sky. If Steve's heart was beating hard before, then right now it was about to burst right out of his chest. The feeling of flying, being in the air and the sight ahead of him, it took his breath away to say the least.
It didn't take more than 3 minutes to make it back to the castle. When Tony set Steve down, the king's eyes were wide and his jaw was on the floor. Tony wiggled his brows, flaunting that he knew how awesome he was.
While Steve was in the bath, Tony talked to Friday about the horse and black butterflies. Friday told him that those were seen as symbols of death in different cultures. That confused Tony, but nonetheless he shook it off.

Per Steve's last minute request, Tony posed with him to get a painting done. By none other than Mr. Hubble of course.
Tony would keep poking Steve's side or blowing in his ear and making him jump. Steve would reprimand him and Tony would just laugh. Though Tony being Tony, everyone quickly learned that it was physically impossible for Tony to stand still.
He tried his best for Mr. Hubble's sake. But he just couldn't help himself. So once Mr. Hubble told them they were free to move since he got the sketch and base colours down, Tony got up and immediately looked at the progress so far and then commented on stuff in the room.
While Tony was babbling on about some scientific stuff thinking Steve was listening, Steve thanked Mr. Hubble and handed him a large and generous tip for his work so far. And then he turned to Tony and nodded, agreeing with him, allowing the genius to think he understood a single sentence that came out of his pretty mouth.
Once Tony finally took a breath, he suggested that they take a walk on the beach since he knew Tony loved those. Well, that's what Steve figured with the amount of times Tony went there after the many times he ran away previously.
Tony responded to it excitedly so Steve understood he was on the right track. Tony said that he could just fly them there rather than wasting time waiting to get there with a carriage. Steve agreed to it. There's no way he wouldn't after his experience with it earlier today.
